I'm sorry, did the PS3 not launch in November of 2006, remember the 360 has a year head start not 2. Which means that PS3 has had a Christmas, funny how you forget the things you want to.

I just checked availability at bestbuy in Anchorage Alaska and you are correct. 360s are sold out and the PS3 is available. I wonder what's up with that.
for example, 600 consoles sold at 1080 percent increase would be 6,480 consoles sold. The only way to truly know how many PS3s are being sold it to wait for the raw numbers. Percentages can be misleading.
Another example if a console "A" sold 350,000 units and then dropped 17% the next month, it would have still sold 290,500 consoles where as if console "B" sold 50,000 and then increased by 1080% the new total would be 540,000 sold, just 190,000 more than ...

Sony was actually stupid for lowering the price, maybe they should have done a survey, because based on the sampling of Sony Fanboys in the thread, they are happy with that they have so far, and would have paid the 599.00 if asked to do it again in hindsight.
