@Count-Zero No one is debating that lol. And the game is already published. The article is saying "it'd be cool if there was multiplayer in this game". Then people for some reason are debating that if they allocated a percentage of the budget of TOTK to mp... It would harm the single player experience... In the past. Let me reiterate. The game is out. It's playable. People are playing it right now. A multiplayer mode like this article is discussing would not take away absolu...
@Foxtrot
You're talking in hypotheticals. All I'm saying and this is in general, not specific to TOTK is that if there was a multiplayer mode, it doesn't affect the single player experience. But is an option for those who like it. Now let's talk hypotheticals. If they added a MP mode as dlc how would that ruin the "sacredness" of the game and the single player experience. Hint: it wouldn't.
Nah... It's a showcase about actual games. Not about aquisitons and long term plans that never come to fruition.
Multiplayer would be optional... It wouldn't affect the way you prefer to play at all...
Imo:
Gameplay is king. A steady framerate is second. Fidelity is 3rd.
Ironically mmo's have basically become single player games. You can pretty solo the game and then when you have to do dungeons and such get assigned other players as team mates and everyone does their part. I kind of miss when mmo's forced you to be social and interact with other people for even the simplest task, like forming a party, but who has time for that nowadays...?
Please play this game however the hell makes you happy.
Say whatever you want about NMS. Hello Games stood behind their product and pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in gaming history while not charging a dime over the admission price of the game. Then you got games like Anthem and Redfall where the devs just cut their losses and move on.
It's a good idea to leave some ideas out in order to release the most polish product you can. Better to make a solid foundation for potential sequels and then keep building upon it than be overly ambitious and ship a half baked product.
Well this is a spin article if I ever saw one. Makes it sound like they are being nice by looking out after the player. There's been reports of this happening after a boss flat out didn't spawn in an area. In other words, they knew there were these types of bugs in the game and slapped that warning to be able to release it.
I think the argument was flawed. Phil doesn't understand it's not either or. Game consoles need to be appealing for consumers to decide to get one. And the best way to do that is through great games. It's almost as if he encourages tribal fanboyism.
Ironically, if the game was not on Gamepass and just on retail, I don't think they would've had the audacity to release a $70 it in that state.
I must say, I admire your resilience for taking L after L and still have the same ignorant opinions. You are an angry little fanboy and someday you'll have to let go of that mentality. You spend all day every day here just spewing your negativity instead of playing games. Grow up dude.
That's a bs argument. It's not about "shifting". It's about taking care of your current fanbase and gaining new fans. Yes, no amount of games would make someone just sell their console off choice... But nothing stops them from buying a new one if it has great games. Phil's interview basically said "we lost, we're too far behind, so we won't even try".
For we are many.
I'm currently playing Shadowman Remastered and it's amazing.
Is this how low the bar is now... Did we reach the "well it's crap, but at least you didn't have to "pay" for it" level?
Aaaaaand THERE IT IS! I totally called that the "It's fun with friends" apologists would come out of the woodwork. I thoroughly enjoyed Resident Evil 6 because I played through the whole thing with a friend and all we did was laugh at how God awful it was. Did that make it a good game? Absolutely not. You can put up with just about anything when you have good friends to share the pain with. It's the same argument that people had with Anthem. Stop giving bad games a free pass...
The thing is I don't root for games to fail. Nobody wants that. But developers need to be held accountable for delivering a subpar experience. This is a $70 game.
Could you please stop ads with audio from auto playing. It's extremely intrusive and it stops other audio sources so I could be scrolling while listening to a podcast just to have the ad play audio and auto pause my player...
