I'm actually hoping for games to suck so I don't end up buying them all. If they were spread out it wouldn't be so bad, this month is like a gaming Atom Bomb getting dropped on gamers everywhere.

B. I agree, I won't replay a game on a higher setting just to do so unless I really enjoyed the game to begin with (Devil May Cry comes to mind). I'd prefer that I get some bonus for doing so rather than torturing myself just to say I did it, but if it's fun, I'll gladly do it.
It's already happened to tons of games, although from my notice mostly PS3 games. Take Heavenly Sword for an example. Great game, lost points in reviews for being short. Reviews take into account multiplayer too which means short games are ok if they have it. Which I think is crap cause a lot of people don't play online.
I still wish I had that kind of time :)

No review can really be trusted. "Professional" reviewers are still just people that game and happen to get paid for writing a review. The amount of bias may be less, but it's still present.
As always, play the game yourself and make your own call. Or talk to someone whose opinion you trust since your tastes are like their own from past experience.
But We'll have to see how it's executed.

no, but when you tell me in a review that you are trying to fight, when the objective is to NOT fight then you're playing it wrong. It's just like older metal gear games. You can run and gun but you'll die more often than if you play it correctly and sneak past threats.

If you read some of teh review (it's translated so it doesn't always make sense), you'll see that the reviewer fell to his death a lot because he made mistakes. He also complained about fighting and "missing the reaction time" to steal weapons.
A. You are running on rooftops, if you slip up, you die.
B. You aren't supposed to fight groups of enemies and should avoid whenever possible even single enemies
C. You suck at hitting a button at the right time....

And for the record, no it's not 100% the parents fault. The kid had issues if he's willing to run away over a console. And no matter what the circumstance behind it, it's still really sad and I feel for his parents.
