Halo: ODST is a stand-alone retail game as well as a downloadable game over Xbox Live. Halo 3 is not required to play and there will be no cross game play other then all of the online maps for Halo 3 will be given a facelift and transplanted into ODST.
While it is based on the Halo 3 engine Bungie is expected considering the 2 years gap between the releases to have done a total graphical overhaul on ODST.

Metacritic scores instead of sales for the games...... Like The new Indiana Jones movie was a critical flop and yet grossed $786 million at the box office while Capote a massively critical success only grossed $48 million.
This shows us two things.... One Critical success does not guarantee commercial success. Two A Sequel will always do between then a new Property....
So quoting critical reviews as a 'win' in this pathetic little console war is totally irrelevant.....

I personally think that eventually the gap will close but not till around early 2010. But that's not to say the PS3 will go ahead then. This Console gen is not like the last one. Things will stay in equilibrium and even the wii's sales will have to come down to reasonable levels....
Add 2 zero's to thats and you've got Microsoft's advertising budget for Halo 3 alone....

Former = Very Expensive already hurting profits.

In short no. The quality will be much worse and you already receive any channels this would give you on your SKYHD also sky+ covers the recording side of it as well.
Guys can we actually step back and think about this for a moment... While I'm sure it's going to be an amazing game, according to this review there's is absolutely nothing wrong with it in anyway and that it is actually better then perfection... This is the problem I have with the video-game review system the bar has been set so low that some reviewers are actually going above the limits of their rating system to emphasize greatness....
