Someone who's trying to gain attention for their website, telling us crap we already know.

This article's full of crap, if you ask me. Just wants attention, so it's going to go against the consensus. The first person mode is not pointless: it's new, fresh and something fans have been asking for Rockstar to include for some time now.

In addition, the article's comment of, " Re-releasing GTA V barely a year after release is already a questionable move..." annoyed me. Barely a year? It'll be a year and a day, actually. I've seen re-re...

Sorry you feel that way. I haven't had a single issue with controls whatsoever.

What about those who actually liked Johnny? I guess our opinions don't matter. Still, it was nice to see some continuance in the lineage, with the appearances of both Johnny and Packie. Even Ashley and that United Liberty Paper fellow that ended up getting my bullet between his eyes.

It looks unbelievably fantastic. It almost seems like they rebuilt it from the ground up. The first person mode isn't even a tacked on bonnet-view feature, it's a legitimate first person mode. Unreal! I'm so excited and less than two weeks way, no less!

I have to disagree. While this year's certainly been rather underwhelming, I find myself incredibly satisfied with the titles I've picked up this year.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
Watch Dogs
The Evil Within
Sunset Overdrive
Dead Rising 3
Murdered: Soul Suspect
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition
Forza Horizon 2
The Sims 4

...not to mention some upc...

Warning: minor spoilers of the GTA V narrative.

I actually don't much care for Trevor. He's my least played character of the three; I prefer Franklin, then Michael and even my mute GTAO character before Trevor. I have to admit though, some of Trevor's dialogue and moments were pretty great, especially his one-liners and lackadaisical, nonchalant apathy toward most things. I think my dislike for Trevor was automatic once he killed Johnny and I grew to tolerate him....

Well, I like to think that my upbringing is a prime example in support of the opinion that video games do NOT cause violence in a person. At 8 years old, my father came home with a copy of Grand Theft Auto III; so I've been playing the Grand Theft Auto series for thirteen years. The first game I played was GoldenEye on Nintendo 64 at around 4 or 5 years old. I grew up watching my father play Manhunt while my mother stuck to Super Mario and Banjo Kazooie - LOL - so I've been exposed to...

I remember reading in an interview awhile back that Mass Effect 4 will essentially be a new IP. It'll be within the Mass Effect universe, but obviously Shepard's story is over. It's unknown if previous surviving characters will return. But ME4 won't tie in to the previous games as a 'final chapter.' Mass Effect 3 was the final chapter in that lineage.

I can definitely see where you're coming from, thorstein. True, no one is forcing anyone to play this game or any others for that matter. The point of my blog, though, was to highlight the game itself and ask the obvious questions.

In the second paragraph, I address the fact that video games are not responsible for real-world crimes. Sure, a murderer could be influenced by what he experienced in a video game, but the video game itself is never to blame.

Well, $60 is a steep price regardless, but Sleeping Dogs is only two years old. Splinter Cell's remaster on PS3 was significantly older but I think it was priced at $40.

Sleeping Dogs' definitive edition was a steal for me because I originally had it on Xbox 360, had a friend buy it off of me when I finished it, got it for free via Xbox Live Gold and now picked it up with all of the extra content for the price of the standalone game.

It's to create a more cinematic experience, from what I've read. There's rumours that it also helps the framerate but I don't know about that. It definitely should have been an option. Now I feel like I have to go out and buy an even bigger TV just to accommodate this game.

I think you've taken the comment completely out of context. It has nothing to do with the matter of fanboyism, it has to do with the fact that I've played both Forza Horizon 2 and Driveclub and I prefer the former. That's all there is to it. Where fanboyism fits into this is beyond me, just because they're both exclusives and I just happen to prefer the one that's on Xbox? Seriously?

If the platforms were reversed, I'd still prefer Forza Horizon 2 if i...

I agree, but the review was not a compare and contrast of DC and FH2. Like I said to Aery, while Forza Horizon 2 is not a direct competitor and Forza 5 is more comparable, DriveClub and Forza Horizon 2 are currently the only exclusive racing games of either console, which does indeed pit them against each other.

Fortunately, I'm not a biased party. I don't prefer one console over another, I just happen to prefer the one exclusive to Xbox.

It's perfectly acceptable to disagree, Aery. It wouldn't be any fun if everyone agreed with me all the time. It opens up the floor for good discussion. :)

You're right, DC and FH2 are not direct competitors; as others have said, it's more comparable to Forza 5 than anything else, but the timing of the development and launch of both alluded to their head-to-head. I wasn't comparing the two of them directly, as they are of the same genre but vastly different...

That's actually a fantastic analogy, there. DriveClub has true potential for growth and I have no illusions that the developer will take advantage of that opportunity. I just hope they're listening to the fan feedback in their community; I've read a lot of good points made that should be addressed.

I wasn't even going to comment on this blog, but now I think I need to chime in here. Let me first begin by saying that I think you've confused Definitive Edition with Game of the Year Edition and I'll explain why in a moment.

Game of the Year Edition is the main game with every add-on and piece of downloadable content for the retail price of the game or discounted. Definitive Edition is the same, but with improved visuals, gameplay, tweaks, etc. basically the def...
