Since N4G is full of double standards as the original was pulled for being based off a forum post even though the information was factual, were as the post stating Sony's servers were up to date, which is false, that was based off a forum post remains the hottest story on N4G...
I went ahead and brought the TRUTH back from the dead, PROOF Sony's servers were out of date, this time with a direct link to said proof.
Right! Failed because it was based off a forum post...
Double standards much? THIS IS BASED OFF A FORUM POST!!!
WTF
I just noticed something you and "PirateThom" must share a brain.

It looks like the people in the article went back on their original "all of the servers were out of date" to "maybe some servers were out of date". I'll wait for an official statement from Sony.
Edit: Just noticed something, every server that is supposedly out of date according to the guy in the article has a curre...
Ever hear the term "You're only as strong as your weakest link" well thats what happened here. There is NO reason any server that might store personal information or credit card information shouldn't be fully up to date.
Whats worse was they were told these were out of date and did nothing.
@Below, one server can't handle all the traffic generated by the million of users on PSN so more are added for redundancy/extra traffic. My guess is ...
but that "Beyond3D user" was wrong, most of PSN, including all the servers that store/handle purchasing, was in fact running Apacher 2.2.11 (2008)

Why becuase the fanboys boosted up a blog post based off a forum post stating something that is FALSE?
Or becuase Sony's servers were infact running Apache version 2.2.11 from 2008?
http://www.quartertothree.c...
Yes, this is somewhat the point. "Random forum guy" says the experts are wrong becuase when he did a very crude check it turned up a false-positive. When infact the experts were right, which is "proven" just as true with not only actual facts... but also a different "random forum guy."
Why is that funny, becuase "random forum guy" was infact wrong? Is it funny that Sony kept thier servers so out of date that it resulted in the leaking of over 100 million peoples information... yep sure is funny.
It's funny all the fanboys flock to the "random guy in random forum says Sony was upto date" news but when some other people use actual tools to check server info and post legitamate information stating Sony was infact running out of date software like the EXPERTS SAID... it's unimportant... they don't care... THAT THIS OUT OF DATE SOFTWARE CAUSED THE LARGEST DATA LEAK IN HISTORY!!
@darkride, you are looking at the Sony ADR, which isn't an acctual stock its a representation of thier stock on the US market. If you look at thier acctual stock http://www.google.com/finan... you will see that you are incorrect.
Also being that I am 99% sure you are really a Sony paid forum PR booster (aka Troll), you would know a little more about the company you work for.
Considering every day this week the stock has gone down for a total of more than 8% loss on the week and that on top of the fact that the overall market trend was UP the past couple days that is a very bad sign. If you knew anything about economics you would be able to see that...
@Disagrees, I don't know how you can disagree with fact. Sony's stock has gone down every day this week and the market trend has been UP... so... do you live in an alternate reality or do yo...
Not quite... see if they disable the key with new hardware any game released before that time would be unplayable, all content signed with the original key would be unplayable. Sony would be sued to the high heavens themselves if they that.
For instance say someone had a legit PS3 and legit games then thier PS3 gets a YLOD, Sony sends them a replacement new model, New model has the current master key blocked, said person can't play thier games anymore. That = Lawsuit. ...
Wow...
Very intresting things are comming in the future with this and windows 8. Truely portable computing here we come.
grandma doesnt even know what the hell bluetooth is... is it some denture paste? cool... you forget, only looser fanboys really care about the stuff you metioned... does any of that matter to timmy... well not so much. in fact does it matter to like 90% of the average population, you know, people that have jobs and have to earn thier money, not so much... they look at it like this: $500 = no pills for grandma vs. $270 = pills for grandma.
for $270 i can play GTA4 in hd ($199 system, $60 game, $10 hdmi cable)
whats the cheapest you can play gta4 in hd on the wii? oh wait.. the ps3? hmm yeah... not so cheap huh...
or lets look at it another way... for $270 i can play one of the best looking games out right now in hd, gears 2... super expensive i know...
just what do you think grandma/mommy is gonna get when little timmy says he wants to play madden/gta/final fantasy? sure they could s...
"So consider, 1080p takes up more data then 720p, yes? You following so far you retard? If a game like, say...whats one of the xbox 360's totally awesome Killer Apps coming on the 360 lately...oh yeah, Banjo 3. If Banjo 3 took up an entire dvd's worth of space purely with it's crap gameplay, then they won't be able to make it natively 1080p because there is no more room on that dvd for the extra data. Stick the same game on bluray, and you DO have more space to make it natively 1080p&quo...
"At the time it was certainly true and to some extent is still true since ps3 already has a few titles which are *native 1080p whereas most if not all xbox 360 "1080p" titles are *upscaled. PS3 is more capable of producing native titles because it doesn't have to upscale due to the amount of data bluray can hold. Gran Turismo 5 is already a great example of just how good 1080p native can look"
this just proves how much of a mindless tool you are... Storage h...
Too bad this story is a false-positive and that many of sony's servers were painfully out of date.
