I dont believe that. A lot of the "anti-online" noise naturally came from the Sony side. A lot of those same people are still very outspoken about it. It's no coincidence that the same people making comments about something like Crackdown's cloud compute to the tune of: "you realize that the internet will be mandatory, right?" are playstation gamers. That was my impression too. Kind of like "ok, this is great, but this 24p online multiplayer once I find a car that really works for me is going to be bonkers". In that way, I think the demo did exactly what it needed to do.
