It's amazing how much video games are being dumbed down

Yes it is...it's so overated that people feel the need to put FF8 and FF9 down because they feel threatened that those two games on the PS1 actually did a lot of things better then FF7 and it's not fair because if we take FF8 for example which is extremely hated on for no reason, unlike FF13 where it's totaly deserved, it makes FF8/FF9 look crap when in fact they are actually better from gameplay to the music.
It's only been named the "best" FF game ...
because it then wouldn't be anything like what the franchise had established
If thats the case then you may aswell of started a new franchise, not ruin one so you can get a new audience.

Thats what is putting me off buying the game day 1. The map is far too small, we've come to a point now with open world games where they should be bigger. I was disapointed with SR3 that they given the game a smaller map, same with Fallout New Vegas and GTA4.
I mean if your playing this game it could get a bit boring going to the same places or keep seeing them over and over.
I hate reviewers when they give game sequels a great score even though the developers have ruined franchise and are far from the franchises roots.

Fair enough if your allowed in GTAV to cycle a BMX or a car off a moutain and still manage to be alive when you hit the bottom but Shark Heads...throwing Kittens, Wacky over the top stuff like whats in SR3....no thanks.

If we did get a FF character I think they would only let them use Lightning even though she's the last person we would want in this game.
No FF characters, no Spyro, no Crash Bandicoot, no Croc, no Tomb Raider, Gex, Tombi...basicaly hardly no PS1 characters.
Honestly this leak has made me worried about the game, the characters were the most important thing about the game and yet I feel like were going to get ones we didn't really ask for.
Exactly a character slot wasted on another version of Cole is a silly idea. A differn't skin would be better.
I hope aswell that it's an old build, like Vanillabear has stated below I don't want that Dante to be in this game, especialy with all the uproar about the new dmc game.

So they've always gambled by trying to attact the casual audience...
They've only started doing it this gen when they realised the potential the casual audience have.
They never did this for the NES, SNES, N64 or the Gamecube

After the huge uproar with the new game and everything else thats went on with it why the hell would you select the new Dante to be in the game. You just wouldn't do that...it's a stupid decision it's like they are trying to get more people to hate them
The majority of us don't give a crap about him, its like they are trying to make us like him by focusing on that Dante now, not the one that people like. They'll start shoving it...
It dosen't matter if they are a good fighter, most old characters selected for the game are mainly for gamers nostalgia towards certain franchises.
When I think of Metal Gear and Sony I think back to when I played Metal Gear Solid on the PS1 and automaticaly think of Solid Snake. What I don't do is think of Raiden...
