Sony never announced 7 GB of RAM for devs. That was a rumor. They promised nothing and this is pretty much what I expected. The PS4 is still better on a technical level and cheaper. I'll be going with it.
Sony never promised 7gb of RAM for games. It was all speculation and rumor. I could understand being upset if they had promised that...but they didn't. And even with the cut in 3 gigs of RAM, it is still a superior console on a technical level. GDDR5>DDR3. 1.8GHz> 1.4GHz. People seem to grasping at straws at Sony this past week over shit they don't understand. It's pretty sad to watch.
How is this news? It was to be expected that the OS would take up 2-3 GB of RAM. People are so silly on here. It's still superior to the XB1...so I don't get what the big deal is... and Sony never promised a full 8 gigs for games...I swear the xbox fanboys on here will grasp at any straw they can. Pathetic more than anything.
They really don't have to explain anything due to this not being real news. They never promised the full 8GB of RAM in the first place...and anyone who expected it is a fool for doing so. On a technical level...it's still better than the XB1 in more ways than one...so i don't get the bullshit.

A rumor is a rumor, and even if so, it's still a better system on a technical level if this is the case. I'll take comfort in purchasing a product that is $100 less from a company that didn't try to feed me to wolves a couple months back.
Damage control? What damage? Sony has stayed the course this upcoming gen since day one. It's the other one that's went into damage control mode. MS backpedals a bit and the fanboys come back out in droves to defend the turd. Superior hardware? If you mean a forced gimmicky camera that will have no real use, then cool, superior hardware. If you mean hardware....no. Sony has them beat...and at a lower price... all without having to backstep an inch on their original vision. :-)...
@XboxFun - It's all about preference. What a good game at launch is to you may not be the same for others.
PS4 has better features for gamers, better hardware, and a lower cost.... don't really see a reason to shell out an additional $100 at launch for an XBone. Seems like a waste. I wish I could be as forgiving as the rest of you guys. I personally don't like company's that try to feed me to wolves for the sake of an additional dollar.

Nah. Their overall stance as a company makes the PS4 better. The faster RAM and GPU is just a bonus...at a better price. I can't find any reason to shell out an additional $100 for what MS is pushing. The Kinect is a waste of time and resources.

Wow xbox defense force coming out in waves within the last week. The Xb1 is still a turd you guys...no matter what MS backpedals on. If anything, keep hating on Sony this upcoming gen and making up lame excuses to skip this playstation release as well. PS3 was a justified purchase , as will this one be.
Sony shares tools with 3rd party developers as well. They have a more powerful platform to work off of this time and it's easier to develop for. Multiplatform titles should look equal to better on PS4 this generation judging from the specs and ease of use of X86 architecture involved. I honestly don't see any draw that the XB1 has over the PS4 at this point. Kinect is also a forced gimmick.
Exactly. This news is just funny to me. I just wanna say "Get back to me when MS is doing something original and not following Sony's lead." I honestly can't believe people are even considering buying the XB1 after all this bullshit. I'll stick with Sony who's had their head on straight from day one.
Thing is, they keep changing their "vision" every five minutes. Wonder what their vision will be a couple months from now? I guess we'll have to watch what Sony does and MS's responses.
They weren't going to change anything until they saw how crappy their preorders were going on gamestop and amazon. Money was the deciding factor in Microsoft's change in direction, not it's fan-base. They could care less about what people want...which is obvious from the kinect that they are trying to force on everyone at launch. No thank you. Obviously...and well deserved. When you reveal a product with your fanbase in mind, you'll get sales. When you reveal a system that's sole purpose is to control and restrict, you'll get none. No matter how much they try to backpedal at this point the damage has been done. I will not support the Xbone. I will not reward MS for what they just tried to do to us.
Ah, but what handicapped it was the Cell. Devs didn't want to spend time with it to master it, thus a cut in quality. That barrier is not there with PS4. It's easier to dev for and TWICE as powerful. There are no excuses this time around.
