Wow. Videogames and politics... and it's good news? I'm speechless. I want to move to Pennsylvania so I can vote for that guy and keep him in office.
@toughNAME
So this site doesn't need news if it is humorous and upsetting to the fanboys? I think this is just the kind of story n4g needs more of. I don't like vanilla news. If this guy had a completely non-personal story with the same basic concept - that Microsoft needs to fix its problems - it would be more okay then? Or do you just not like the story because it is more negative news about the 360? No matter what the story is about, you're going to get douchebags leavi...
People take this stuff too seriously. I'm pretty sure the dude was half kidding. He even says "Do I really think Microsoft or some hacker broke my 360? No, not really. It is a strange coincidence, but that’s probably all it is."
Some people take this stuff too personal. That ripten site seems to be a little humorous and not so serious all the time, and I like that. People need to stop getting so worked up and lay off the fanboy juice.
I thought the ...
Dude, I downloaded that game and it was flippin' awesome.
Well of course you can get achievements when you're not online. I'm not saying you have to be on Live to get achievements. I'm saying that the Xbox Live servers keep track of your achievements and whatnot. How else could you recover your gamertag on someone else's 360? It's all stored on the servers. Obviously your game data is stored on the hard drive, and that's what the achievement system checks to unlock achievements for you. If, however, your achievement doesn't get uploaded and re...
No, it's not kept on the hard drive. You can get achievements from game saves because the save shows you got so many kills or whatever is required to get the achievement, then getting one more kill gets you the achievement. The actual status of your achievements is kept on Microsoft's servers, which is why you can see you and your friends' status on xbox.com.
That is so totally not good... not good at all... I'd even go so far as to say that's really bad.
Get over it. Seriously, how are people supposed to move on with their lives if the media keeps reminding them of September 11th? Like anyone could ever forget that. That's like saying to some widow "Hey, remember how your husband is all dead now?" It's insensitive. Shame on you, NBC.
So, if it's a DS game, does it actually run on a DS? How would you download it to a DS, or is it just, like, a preview build? I read that they are looking for programmers to help finish the game, so maybe the download is just to help with the development. I'm confused...
Apparently they are actually now fatter than Americans according to some recent study/survey. I never would have guessed.
Yes, it is kind of a joke. Did you even click through and read the article?
You obviously didn't understand me or the article we're talking about. I'm glad it's not fanboy ranting, in any direction. That is all I was saying. The article says that Xbox Live is great, but none of it works right now, and that's not great. Why is this so hard for people to comprehend?
The biggest problem with n4g is that people are too quick to comment on an article without actually reading the whole thing. Go read the damn thing and then update your comments so you ...
You should go read the article. It's not what you think. It's certainly not what I expected given the title and n4g's little not-very-descriptive description.
Ha ha ha! That article was pretty funny. I thought it was going to be some fanboy talking up how great Live is, even with all these problems, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Yes, that's my point. The 360 sold well, and they are blaming those sales for all the problems Xbox Live is having. I can't even log in right now. I love the system and the games, but the hardware failures and problems like this really make it hard to sing its praises. Thank you Microsoft for preventing me from becoming a fanboy!
Don't you think Microsoft should have been more prepared for this? I mean, they EXPECTED to sell a lot for Christmas, so why didn't they think that all those people are going to use the system and, you know, prepare for it a little better?
No, he's probably right, Timesplitter14. Real-world issues don't affect the real world - that's just dumb. It's makes a lot more sense that shooting purple aliens with lasers in Halo makes me cut off real people's heads and eat their brains. Can't you see the connection!?!?!
I hope that's a joke. Videogames don't CAUSE violence. If you honestly think a 16-year-old and 17 year-old can't make a conscious decision whether or not to beat a little girl to death, then you have some serious issues, my friend. Believe it or not, people are in control of their own actions, and if they're not, then it's called a mental disorder. Anyone who says they don't have control over themselves needs to be locked up, one way or another.
How is this flamebait? The article suggests that the rumor going around about Ninja Gaiden II coming to PS3 is all based on a simple typo. Nobody anywhere ever really thought that Ninja Gaiden II was coming to PS3 until EGM made this mistake. I don't see how after reading an article saying it is coming and then another saying it's probably not coming, it all of the sudden becomes flamebait. They're simply trying to squash the rumor before fanboys get all worked up.
