Zelda was real time, you have control over lighting and camera angles, cant do that with a video.

Well its true that it isn't always smartly utilized.
But
It adds a lot to a sword fighting game (RS2, SS)
it also revitalized light gun games (though that was a little annoying when every dam game became one...)
and imo IR is better then Dual Analog.
The Wiimote did have its benefits over standard controllers.

Software my friend, first party titles should be enough to differentiate themselves.

it needs to allow more then 1 dam controller to connect to the system. 1 connected per system is a major design flaw.

Doing a really bad job of showing that.
For me WiiU seems far from Nintendo. It basically destroys local multi player, and no GC controllers also pisses me off, there goes most Smash Brothers players.
Lets say a new goldenEye lands on the system,split screen match, only 1 person can use the WiiU controller... everyone else is using a wiimote+nunchuck, how stupid is that?. Local play gets fragmented.

virtually no wii software talk, no SS trailer shown at the conference, no localization talk for Xeno, TLS, Pandora, a WTF moment with Lego, no new 3ds games shown expect for Luigi's Mansion.
It was a pretty big letdown.

developing encompasses more then the design, again I think they are co-designing the levels only - based on the info from the round table.
I refuse to believe a talented studio like retro is being wasted on co-designing mario kart levels.
