Ended the console wars, basically by giving up. With future XB1 games moving forward being on Windows also, it definitely changes the appeal of XB1. XB1 was always essentially a Win 10 PC in a box with a gui frontend slapped on it (always cracks me up with people talk XB1->PC ports, there's hardly anything to port other than adding an installer and tweaking the menu), so this was always an option. But now if I want to play a Halo or Gears game, just get it on PC. Console is still n...

I think casual techies get very confused between the 980 and 980ti performance wise. The 980 was kind of a dud and barely faster than the 970. The 980ti on the other hand was quite a bit faster than the 970/980. Leaked benches have the 480 only between the R9 390 and 390x performance-wise. And 390s are based on the quite aged Hawaii, and should have probably been in the low $200s already. So at $229 for the 8GB in a "new-gen" card (no idea why anyone would want the 4GB), it'...

XBox 360 did provide most customers including myself good experience in warranty processing, a lesson on paying close attention to warranty dates, and shipping your 360 back to Microsoft for warranty work. I went through 4 of them myself. 4. I had the same launch day PS3 until I sold it last xmas and it never failed. And the PS3 had many more hours of use than all 4 xbox360s combined. The 360 had some good exclusives, but the PS3 exclusives were very very good as well, and the 360 qualit...

The Order wasn't as bad as it was often portrayed, so I'll be looking forward to what they have in store. Definitely if I preordered or paid full release price it I would have felt robbed due to the lack of replayability. But as a gf rental as I did it was excellent. The game itself was quite good though while it lasted. One of the best examples of why it's good to wait for reviews before buying.

At least make it more of a contest, maybe the new Tomb Raider vs. Uncharted.

It's about what I'd expect. Most previous ones are in that same 6-8 mission range. I always run through them once or twice for a fun little story, and it's good warmup for mp. But that's all it really is. The BF game has always been 95%+ about the mp. At least they learned their lesson from SW Battlefront and didn't leave out the campaign.

I definitely appreciate games with environmental effects and changes, and that both goes for changing weather like The Division or day/night changes like The Following. So those are a couple of exceptions but overall it's an area where devs have been lacking. It adds a lot to immersion but is often left out.

I would agree with all these, and also looking forward to The Division's Incursion update on April 12. One more to add to the list is Total War Warhammer on April 28, which looks very good if you like the Total War series. April is going to put a dent in my bank account.

It's good news to hear more confirmation that it's coming. I'm hoping Ubi has finally learned their lesson on releases and getting them right. Watch Dogs or AC Unity being bad examples of good games plagued by early issues that kind of ruined them. The Division being at the other end of the spectrum as as good release.

Also, I'd like to see the game design on Watch Dogs 2 improved. Beyond the bugs (and plenty still exist today tbh), some of the game design...

I've had Knack since day one and it can be bought outright for $5 or less pretty easily since there a zillion copies out there. If they are looking to get close to XBL on games releases they need to do better than Knack, and right now they aren't even in that neighborhood. Sunset Overdrive is a good game and not even that old.

Driveclub was the biggest cluster of a launch (and for what was supposed to be a ps4 launch day game originally no less) I've ever seen, so it's not surprising. Underneath it all eventually when we got it and it was updated it was a good game. And I *loved* MotorStorm. So it's a sad day. But any business that gets this far off track will face the same thing. They can't live very long on the coattails of past success. Sears and Kmart are dealing with that now, and it'...

My experience is less than half of KS deliver, and the ones that do are only after long long long delays with every excuse in the book. And even then the product delivered doesn't really do what was advertised, was a shell of what was described, etc. It's fun to surf KS and check out the original ideas, but I wouldn't give any KS project a dime. Way too many cashgrabs where devs get the money and run because all incentive to actually work is gone. That's why most jobs don&...

The future is in streamed/cloud games like Nvidia is wanting to do soon with Shield and like OnLive tried. They are/were just a few years too early. But once most folk's internet bandwidth catches up, then that's what's coming. Then all you'd need is a small low-power client box to connect to the tv that really never (or rarely) needs hw upgrades, the upgrades all happen back on servers at the (virtual) "console" provider. My only question really is if that gener...

Looks pretty and I only played through about 1/2 of the first one back when it came out. So I'd be interested in this as a rental on the definitive edition, or maybe even a buy on a decent sale. I'm a little leery on these remasters though, they've been a hit and miss on quality lately. So I'd wait to see the release and confirm it's solid without bugs or problems.

Considering it can be widely found new already for $26-$30 digital or physical, I think that's enough public verdict on the game. Obviously customers were underwhelmed. The game itself looks beautiful and I don't doubt they put tons and tons of work in, I wouldn't call it lazy. But I think they would even have to admit that the no-campaign decision was a mistake, and they underestimated the negative feeling from limiting the base content to 4 (or 5 if you count the preorder bon...

Topic-wise I am definitely looking forward to this and have a great interest in the Vietnam games (in fact would love to see another bf: vietnam). Graphically this one looks a bit dated since it's using an older engine. But if the mp playerbase numbers are solid it should be a pickup on a decent price.

The 3 main games from PS3 that are worth playing now are Last of Us, Heavy Rain, and Beyond Two Souls...which are all remastered on PS4 now with updated graphics anyway. There are some other good ones like Disaster Report, etc. but I don't have a burning need for PS3 backwards compatibility. If you didn't play those back then you aren't likely to do it now.

The only kind of nice thing about it on XB1 is that Xbox Gold gives 2 free 360 games a month as well. E...

Not a bad lineup but unfortunately for me I have 3 of the 4. So only the Sherlock Holmes will be a pickup for me. Supreme Commander 2 is a great old game but I can't imagine playing an rts like it on console, the controls would be a real pain compared to PC.

I know it's not 1:1, but 2 real missions in the beta, and this 6x...sure hope it's more than 12 missions or the single player will be done in about 3-4 hours for most people. Which imo would mean it's essentially a mp only game and the missions are just to get you ready to go to the DZ. That would be pretty lame to me. That's my big concern with this game is that there will be enough to do sp or mp depending what I'm feeling like at the time.
