I sent my PS4 in for a minor warranty repair and it was replaced. Downloading my saves back from the cloud only took a few minutes and I was done. If I owned a Switch and it broke and sending it in meant losing all saves, I'd be livid. And a sd card doesn't help in that situation since the card won't work on a replacement Switch. Plus, the odds of something going wrong on a portable system from breakage to theft are way higher than a non-portable console.

There are none, which is the problem. All big XB1 exclusives have either been cancelled, or disappointing when released. And even without cancellations there have just been too few. Quantum Break wasn't bad, and Gears 4 is ok. Forza Horizon 3 was also better than expected. But those are the highlights, and none come close to must-have exclusives like Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, HZD, etc. etc. etc. I have both the PS4 and XB1 consoles and it's tough to find a reason to even turn my ...
Cool to see when these rare unreleased games are found. As for why it didn't come out, my guess would be that since in 1999 the Nintendo 64 (and that whole console gen) were right at the very tail end of things. PS2 came out in 2000, GC in 2001. So from a business standpoint it made sense to can the N64 version but recycle what dev work they could into the Die Hard: Vendetta game that they did release in 2002 for Xbox/PS2/GC. You can definitely tell Vendetta used a lot of the same dev...
The games aren't that comparable, and HZD is just as good if not better although they are both great. Also, keep in mind Botw was basically the only launch title for a new system and a massive IP. Kind of hard to compare that to one of dozens of big exclusives Sony has had this generation. It was incredibly important that Zelda was a success and a ton of effort, money, and dev resources went into it. When was the last new console release done with only one game? I doubt there has eve...
It's definitely a Souls-like. It's just not a complete ripoff pushing the copyright limits for the Souls games like some have (Salt&Sanctuary for example). There are plenty of differences and Nioh can stand on it's own. There's nothing wrong with being like another game and heavily influenced though.
People seem to be making the incorrect assumption that the console makers are going to put their best games, or new exclusives on PS Now or the Xbox Pass. They aren't going to shoot themselves in the foot and do that. Those services are just a way to get a revenue stream from old games that they've already milked dry. They might put one or two marginally newer games on it as a highlight to pull in subscribers. But it's mostly going to be older games. The Xbox Pass list of gam...
I don't think it's Frostbite, there are plenty of other Frostbite games with animations that are completely fine (Battlefront, BF 1, FIFA, Need for Speed, etc.). Some of them aren't the absolute best around, but none of them have animations that are anywhere near as bad as Armageddon has. That's just extremely poor dev work. It's bad enough that actually if I were DICE I'd be giving the Bioware devs heck for giving their engine a bad rep with such a badly animated g...
I agree there, the games are really apples and oranges to compare. They are similar game genres in a general sense, and the release dates were on top of each other, but other than that I'm not sure why so people are comparing them. Horizon was a higher detail, non-launch title, and brand new IP with a more mature feel. Comparing that to essentially the *only* launch title for Switch (I barely count 123...more of a demo than game), and being a massive IP for Nintendo in Zelda, it absolu...
I've read quite a few negative reviews already, but the EA Access 10 hour trial is a great way to see for yourself and make up your own mind. The red flag that jumped out at me a couple weeks ago was the late decision to cancel the mp open beta weekend for it. The excuse that was given was that it just wasn't needed. But in the past when that kind of thing has happened with other releases, it's because the devs aren't real thrilled with the final product and they fear the ...
A 5 for this buggy mess and 90's game AI would be generous. Giving this a 7 while other sites also gave Zelda a 7 is so baffling that it makes me question the value of reviews.
I'm not aware of any games on PS4 that couldn't hold 30fps. It's usually running 45-60.. Plus it's even worse when the Switch can't hold 30 at lower resolution and way less detail. I think the Switch is a great handheld, but to compare it to the PS4 or XB1 ftm in hw power is silly. It's already clear that it isn't close to those, and is/will be miles behind the Pro and Scorpio. Zelda is amazing and I am confident many of the upcoming games will be too. But le...
I enjoyed the game too much more than expected. But the short content length and lack of replayability was a problem. I would love to see a sequel that addresses those issues though, and not by just shoehorning in multiplayer. Multiple endings and choices, a longer game, and I'd buy a sequel. As it was 1886 was the perfect game to rent, but I definitely feel sorry for the folks that paid $59.99 at release.
Sony owns the IP, and the devs said they would like to do ...
6TF won't do 60fps 4K, so it depends what they want to call "true" 4K. 30-35 fps, maybe 40 at times. But it takes 11TF to do 60fps 4K and Scorpio isn't in that neighborhood. It's definitely got potential to be a good system if priced right and if Microsoft makes a major turnaround on amazing Horizon/Zelda (or old Halo) quality must-have exclusives. Not timed exclusives and not exclusives we can play on PC, which I don't consider exclusives. Many including anyone...
Not even clicking on that bait review. I've noticed this trend lately, give an overwhelmingly positively reviewed game that's got 9+ on every other review around a terrible score just to poke a beehive and get traffic. They know they'll get 500 replies saying how wrong they are, but as long as it's traffic they don't mind.
Breath of the Wild is a great game, but how great will depend on the person. Zelda fans would give it a 10 for sure. If you're just a typical gamer and not specifically a Zelda fan, it's still good but I would probably make it more of a 9. BotW is definitely more puzzle and exploration first, with some combat along the way. It's an amazing game, not bashing it. Just saying a lot of gamers would prefer gameplay more along the lines of Horizon, where it's combat with more c...
Realistically the most I would hope for from Scorpio would be something close to NV 1070 graphics on PC, which is more in the 30-40 fps range in 4K. "Real" 4K is always subjective depending if you consider real 4K to be 60fps gameplay or 30-40. Personally I only consider 60fps 4K to be real 4K, and the 1080ti (a $700 card alone) is the first one really able to do that. With that type of hw the Scorpio would cost $1000 and I can't see that happening. So my guess would be som...
Also, I can guarantee the other large powers like Russia and China are doing the same. It's just that they haven't had someone risk leaking inside info like Snowden did and this leak. In either Russia or China even for 1/100th of this leak the person would end up dead in mysterious circumstances.
I agree too, most of this wasn't exactly a secret that it was happening, just the specifics on the particular programs with exploits and methods used was secret and...
I hadn't really heard of him, but did a little checking and he's head of Asia Tech research for Macquarie Group which is a very large investment company (almost 15k employees, ~$8B revenue/yr). So that lends a lot of credibility to the rumor actually. I'd suspect he has a source in the know at Sony passing info along. Those dates can always slip and change, but based on his comments I'd bet that's the current internal target date. It seems early but it definitely would...
They weren't that hard to find on launch day to be honest. I found them without much effort at all. So I know people are listing thousands of them for far beyond retail, but hopefully most aren't paying that much. Honestly for what it is, even $299 retail is a bit high. I would hope that it will drop to $249 or at minimum include a bundled game like Zelda for $299 by this holiday season. I'm sure there are some wealthy folks that would rather spend $600 than put even a little...
The only game I have heard anyone purchase other than Zelda was 1 person that bought Bomberman. And that person wasn't a Bmberman fan, they just wanted something else to play. I wouldn't compare online store small indies to major actual launch titles like Pilotwings, Super Mario 64. Crazy Taxi. etc. Zelda is very good, but trying to make the argument that the Switch had a great launch lineup is a major stretch.
