Guys are hating on HHG simply for reporting news? That's sad... I understand you may not like the dude for certain reasons, but that doesn't negate the fact that this is a report on the game's features. No offense to you Pope_John_Paul_II...
---
My only criticism, which I find more valid, is that this same news was submitted on N4G earlier yesterday. So it's actually a duplicate story. HHG even sourced the original site that posted the feature...
Does the disagree mean that's not the same Chris Roper of IGN fame?
Or is it a troll disagree?
It's good to see Zipper support MAG like they are :). But I have a question: I noticed that the Zipper community manager who said this is named Chris Roper. Is it the same Chris Roper that was laid-off from IGN/PS3?
with you Whoooop. On the fact that he is a subpar journalist. I think he has a ways to go to become widely respected/ accepted as one (as do a majority of those in the business).
---
Having said that, I love his style and find him credible on many occasions. Though as Alpha-Male22 stated above, he sometimes doesn't back his opinions with reasonable knowledge or support (ex: topic of PC gaming). What I think can't be questioned is his legitimacy as a recognized member...
There are a number of games that retain the same fate as these two. I decided to talk about these becasue they are freshly relevant to current events and people's thoughts.
Hype is certainly a popular factor that everyone can generate. But if a game has a great amount of hype, does that justify harsher criticisms? I don't think it should, especially depending on the form of hype accumulated. A game is designed and developed to be what it will be regardless of what people on the internet think about it. Hype doesn't design and develop games, nor should it determine the quality of them (the actual product should). Though honestly, we can say it effects it from tim...
it seems the high majority of the hate and skepticism for 3D gaming are those who haven't actually had hands-on with the stuff these tech editors are previewing! It sounds mostly good and I'd take their word for it (and my own) over some haters'/ skeptics'. I've seen Avatar in 3D, and if that's what we're in for then sign me up :).
The best news from that article for me is that Sony 3D sets will come with 2 shutter glasses. I plan on getting a new HDTV, and Sony Bravias are looki...
Avatar (amongst other movies like Up) has proven that 3D can definitely add to the experience without degrading the picture quality. And break into the mainstream while doing so. If a game or movie is engineered to run in 3D then it'll def. be a plus. Avatar made me a believer :).
I've read some impressions of 3D games at CES and for the most part, they're really positive. The standout being Super Stardust HD. If games are developed with the tech in mind, there shouldn't be an is...
I'm sure you're a fakeboy, if not, then...I don't know what to say to that.
What I will say is that this list 1up has made consists of 2009 titles that were, for the most part, 'under-the-radar'. Meaning, they were sleeper hits--like the article blatantly implies.
---
This is a list of great games. I'm proud to say I've played 5 of the 13:
* Critter Crunch
* Flower
* Machinarium
* Torchlight
* Trash Panic
...
This is just ridiculous. I'd pick Machinarium over MW2 for PC GOTY. Other obvious titles go without saying...
Can't say that I'm surprised by their choice, but what makes me LMAO is that it won PS3, 360, and wait for it...EVEN PC GOTY! WTF?
---
It seems that MW2 doesn't meet the main criteria that they set for GOTY: "breaking the mold". What mold do they mean? First day sales? Looks like this was a popularity contest from the beginning. Good game, just not GOTY material IMO.
I would have been cool with Uncharted 2 as well. But my favorite game of the year is Demon's Souls.
-------
My Top 5:
1.) Demon's Souls
2.) Uncharted 2
3.) Killzone 2
4.) Assassin's Creed 2
5.) Infamous
-------
Demon's Souls was definitely a sleeper hit and very few saw it coming. I'm sure the majority of major publications will give GOTY to Uncharted 2.
Thanks for posting the entire Platform Awards instead of just the individual awards. Bugs me when people do that.
- PC: Seems about right Dragon Age is the truth.
- PS3: Demon's Souls HAPPILY surprised me since Uncharted 2 seemed destined to win based on scores and popularity. My GOTY as well.
- 360: I honestly thought it would have gone to Forza 3. But AC2 is an awesome game. I still need to buy that.
- DS & PSP: No brainers there LOL! ...
Did 'Bungie' get + bubbles?
BTW, I think its pretty much certain that GS will give best shooter to KZ2 in the genre awards :).
seems spot on with this awards. KZ2 def. is my favorite competitive multiplayer this year (and one of my favorite this gen). Though I don't think it's leagues beyond the likes of MW2, it's more balanced IMO and more appealing.
Yeah, I completely understand the criticism of HHG and agree with a lot of it. He is a huge Sony fan though lol. One thing that I definitely agree with you is that he may never gain the respect of the entire gaming community if he keeps posting lame rumors and flame-bait titles. He has a lot to learn as a journalist, but he sure has the perfect stage for it all.
Your harshness (since you called it that) was weak compared to most of the hate he gets. And I don't consider your comm...
He owns all consoles. And still, it doesn't matter what consoles you own that determines if you're a "gamer" or not. Any gamer may have his/ her preferences. We all know for a fact that HHG loves Sony, but it's evident that he respects MS and the 360 and uses their system/ services. Given that you follow him, which you probably don't, nothing wrong with that.

You know, I'm good friends with Alpha-Male22 above me... he only owns a PS3 (from the last we s...
You don't think that HHG has a genuine love for gaming? I have to disagree man. I know the dude and I can tell you he does. Though his titles may be over-exaggerated and flame-bait lol, he does make some nice points and have nice content and info. I don't agree with a lot of what he says, but he's the underground aspect I think game journalism could use. Though his journalism skills could and should improve.
As for "Sony Finally Kills Mario", that's a dumb title! I have...
They should bring it over to the US store soon. I rented (well my dad lol) Vagrant Story when it came out in 2000. After only playing for less than an 30 mins, I was so impressed I had to buy it. So I stopped playing to save the experience for a purchase. Well...I don't know why or how I didn't end up getting it. Long story short, I never played it :( again.
So I hope they bring it here.
I gotta get back to listening to the Warzone. Great show fellas :).
