Good variety. They focus on making characters that are enjoyable to play as in cool worlds. The fact they're girls is secondary to me.
There's the 2B and A2 androids, Kat and Raven with superpowers, Aloy with a tribal indigenous feel, Chloe and Nadine as more grounded real world types, Senua as an Norse survivor, and Hatsune Miku for some plain old singing and dancing hahaha.
Or GTA3, or MGS, or Witcher3, or Hitman2, or AC2, or FC2, or Spiderman2. Probably. Yeah. Lotta series don't hit their stride until the sequels.

Dude, those games you listed. Nier Nioh Persona, Horizon, they only came out a couple months ago. Don't go comparing the new kids' lifetime sales already vs Halo which is plural years old.
Ask yourself instead what came out in that same window this year on Xbox to compare realistically. The answer is Nothing. Well actually Halo Wars 2 did. And it bombed at only a couple hundred thousand sold. Where were those 80% of fans who you claim know Halo? ...
