Sounds like typical story DLC tbh. Burial at Sea, Blood and Wine, Leviathan, Frozen Wilds, the Following. I don’t see that model changing.
Soon as you’re changing endings and getting as expansive as the main quest, you cease being a side quest. Mass Effect did it good. Side characters were often optional recruits that could change things dramatically and produce fuller stories. Even die. But then they lost sight of the bigger picture in ME3 and had to DLC the ending lol.
Videogame journalism is so sheltered. You don’t see articles every time a musician does a cover song, a rapper samples a riff, a guitarist solo’s in E A B or a movie studio hires Danny Elfman -Zimmer’s better-
Anyone around long enough with a back catalog to speak of will end up doing this. Sega had one too. Genesis Classic, 81 games. Atari Classic. Xbox would too if they had anything worth playing pre-360.
Not into these. I have the entire NES and SNES catalog on PC so I passed on those too.
PS1 era hasn’t aged as well. Those early 3D polygons and fixed cameras are rough. In this particular case I’d rather play a remake like RE1, RE2, Twin Snakes, Crash, Metroid Zero Mission, Halo Anniversary, FF7. Hope PS Classic at least has Silent Hill.
