Something Kinda stupid....PS3's here used to be around 688 with a few games depending where you shopped. Now everywhere is sold out (ok i only checked two places), but JB Hifi now has the slim listed and its about $550, so thats our new price point in oz right? WRONG! EB, which is literally one shop over has PS3's listed for 499. The clinker? They are USED! Their current stock is still priced at..... $688!?!? Sure, yiy get the 30 Dollar Platinum version of uncharted but still...
Its funny that MSNBC and Cnet are pretty much the only ones coming out with the negative spin on the slim. Alot of suprise to see who owns CNET heh?
To try and promote one business they are destroying the credibility of one of their other businesses. They really think this is a smart move?

Defending Broken product. The game is gonna be great anyway. You dont have to defend poorly conceived, designed and manufactured hardware.
I think a real gamer, who wants the best for the industry would say "Yeah, you know what, it sucks, but I dont care cos the game will be good", not "its ok to release crap products"

I dont understand why so many idiots in this industry are so willing to hate the company that is probably mostly responsible for creating the industry that they work in.
90% of these "publications" probably wouldnt exist if Sony hadnt made gaming what it is.
Granted this is PC World, but gaming is gaming, and Sony have had a huge hand in it.

Beh. These numbers are usless. Of the people I know 360 failure rate is around 85-90% (I know about 2 people who have never had problems) and PS3-wii I'll say <1% because of all the people who own wii's and/or ps3's NONE of them have broken. Sure, None of them actually play their wii's but hey...
And you know what? I reckon something unhinted at yet, will be the Sony Wand. I'd put a 50 on seeing maybe an official release date, product name launch titles. Hell Id have brought their E3 demo if they added some half arse textures.

Most of these "leaks" would be easy to track down, and the people responsible would face HUGE penalties, fines and probably the end of their careers once caught out.
Look at the hype around Sony right now. It dwarves anything the competition is getting from the media. Sure its a druids sword in that it takes some sting out of the great announcements that there are, but I think its a good ploy ...
PS3 actually works for 4 consecutive hours. 360 makes funny sounds, needs some games.

The ps3 is such a leap over the ps2. I like it. I get a quality machine that does more than any other. I have the best graphics, the best (imo) games, and is as reliable as anyone could ask.
As a gamer Im proud to support a company that continually pushes what console games are about.
You idiots like faulty hardware that gets replaced every 2 months, good for you. Hopefully sony continues to offer us a choice.

Only video files ive had that haven't worked (recently... before 2.4 (i think) the codec support was minimal) were off my girlfriends Canon 5D Mark II. Pretty sure it uses a custom codec and it's only been out for a little while.
You know what, I actually dont care if they do. Infact I want them not to. FF7 is a license to print money and with the shat they have been releasing lately SE needs to crawl under a rock and die.
