Actually, after story mode was done, I'm pretty positive that they were mostly done with SFV. But the game had flopped and was stale so they decided to turn things around with some major updates. Kinda like what is happening with FFXV, it is obvious that it was supposed to be done already, but since it had a huge backlash (despite good sales and somewhat good reviews), they decided to work on it. Honestly, I have mixed feelings on this.

IDK, sometimes I want things from my games other than simply interacting with the environment or being amazed by physics. One of my favorite games this gen is Bloodborne, and that has almost no interaction with the environments whatsoever. But that is just me tho, to each their own.

The game still lacks charisma, IMO. I see screenshots, videos and I feel like there is no sense of identity and the characters seem rather bland. In a horror game, I usually need to be attached to the main character to feel anything whatsoever.

I guess I can still find a specific MTG card online, while the contents in a lootbox are ALWAYS locked, and please, let's not compare a niche physical game with something that is currently moving what some are calling billions of dollars. Most kids will not make the jump from MTG packs to slot machines, but the leap from one to the next is not that big when you consider lootboxes...

Probably yes. This game shares similar themes with FFX. But, regarding gameplay, it's a toss up, because this FF is infinitely more action based (and open world) than FFX.
I'd wait until December to get it tho, with all the DLC. Even though there's probably two more coming net year (possibly Luna and Ardyn's side of the story, though Ardyn's is probably a movie or cutscene only).
Thank God a developer actually goes out of their way to improve a game that had a lukewarm response overall, rather than simply ditching it and letting it die, like EA and Mass Effect Andromeda. Final Fantasy XV is on its way to become a complete and satisfying game, rather than something that should be forgotten and considered a stain for years to come.
