Wasn't the announcment that the "Playstation" brand sold 3.8 million? Playstation includes ps2, ps3 and all PSP (playstation portable) devices.
So All together 3.8 million, not sure what portion of that were PS3's though.
before the next Sony system, then i hope Sony just holds off for 2 years. Then it will not even be the same generation as Microsoft. Microsoft and Nintendo can have a generation all to themselves. I think the PS3 can compete with their next consoles for at least 2 years, until developers figure them out, then BAM!! Sony hits us with a new console that kills the competition from the start and has all that potential.
Anyway, thats what i would do if i was Sony.
But really they are trying to kill the resale of the game. I mean if a new copy is 20 buck cheaper now that means gamestop and blockbuster are going to give you less for it if you traded it in. So you are probably not going to trade it now. This will force people who want the game to buy a new copy and and Infinityvision makes more money.

What i am referencing is the negativity about the color pallet in Killzone 2. Really, lets compare it to a movie like "Saving Private Ryan", what was the color pallet in that Academy nominated film (11 nominations). It was depressing dark and devoid of color. So, why should a war game that is trying to immerse you in the action not be similar. Why must it have Halo neon colors to be deemed AAA by the critics.

Poorly planned OS or poorly constructed console, i would choose the OS, as that is updated for free with virtually no down time.
Before is start lets concider PS3 and XBOX 360 current Gen.
There is no real need at this point for either company to RUSH to bring one out. Microsoft will obviously (not including Wii in this discusion) be the first to release a Next gen console as they have already been on the market a year longer and technologically thier console is lacking.
Microsoft can take its time this time around and do the quality control they need.

wasn't it just the live account that got banned. Counld't you just by another live account and be good to go. I realize you would lose you gamer score and all, but you don't need a new 360 do you?
Do they count Software sales like they do Hardwarae sales, shipped = sold?

This generation and even a bit last generation, Some of the best games did not sell that well. (ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, and even GOW series). It seems to be all about the marketing. It does not even matter how good the game is anymore.
I myself get caught up in the hype for games. I think I have 2 games still in the wrapper that i have never even played. I guess I am a sucker for the hype/marketing mac...
