What would be the point? If you want to free roam, play single player.
The HD updates do no harm. In fact, they've done me nothing but good. Many games I missed on the PS2, I have played on the PS3. I love the HD updates, keep them coming.

If you live in the UK, GAME are selling RSV2 pre owned for £2. The game is outdated. The graphics are bad and the game is laggy but the online is fun.
You can customize your character. You can change what they wear and the colour of their camo. You can even take pictures of your face so your character can look like you.
I can't really comment about the story as I never bothered to play it but I heard it's average and nothing special.
