@oldboy
And now I shall answer the original question.
"How much would you pay for a console?"
For a marketable system I'd easily be willing to pay $700 for a powerhouse system by console standards.
@xX-oldboy-Xx
"Just answer the question I put to you"
You get an answer after you provide proof I've said what you accused me of saying or you admit that you pulled it out of your ass.
"Surely it can't be that hard to give a simple number."
Surely it can't be that hard to provide a simple link.
@oldboy
"Your 1080 is pushing gaming forward? You admitted yourself there isn't much difference between it and a PS4Pro (less with an xbox one x)."
*Citation needed*
"what your willing to pay most people probably aren't."
Then most people can wait for a price drop. Why are you okay with.holding back gaming for the sake of casuals?
@Euphemism
"Of course you on purpose left out one of the reasons given by an indie developer, stating that steam and the other platform were oversaturated. "
Did I say steam? No I was referencing ALL platforms so when you limit your criticism of my comment to Steam it shows you can't address why the PS4/Xbox one versions still sold less.
"Good luck searching for that specific game by an indie among 5,000 titles on tha...
"the video game industry has gone completely out of control, to the point where they are alienating half of their customers."
*math equation still pending*
Only if they're making a big push on power. If we have a repeat of current gen where its immediately clear that there's huge compromises for the purpose of hitting an attractive price point then no.
Couldn't agree more. XGP is the winner this month.
I'm I the only one who find this comment with that username slightly ironic?
The only possible solution is as a post game patch. No chance this multi-media empire gets delayed unfortunately.
"No thanks.. They had good freedom on 360and the only thing they could come up with was Alan Wake, a very boring game I didn't even finish.."
Then you have no idea on how to craft an interesting story. A game that has you read a page written and then the scene acts out in front of you hours later but its still gameplay. Another moment where you see people die and then later on realize Alan knowingly wrote down all those peoples deaths because it was the only w...
@darthv72
Okay but Metroidvania makes sense. There are many other genres that started out being named after games, like DOTA which later changed to MOBA because it kinda doesn't make sense to call League of Legends a DOTA game when we have DOTA 2. It would just be confusing. The same could one day happen to Metroidvania but it hasn't and until someone does come up with a better term for the mechanics but until then we will continue to use the commonly known term.

In one breath action adventure can be used to describe a shooter and in another a hack'n'slash. It's not a beneficial term because it's far too vague.
I know everyone likes to pretend David Cage creates incredible stories but the reality is that out of every story focused AAA his are the ones most riddled with inconsistencies, plot holes, and downright bad design.
Detroit confirmed this for me when cage made a scene that has you kissing your girlfriend to save yourself from being shot. Hank and Connor were good but if you look into the development they had a heavy amount of improv and Cage was dissatisfied with their perf...
@Darthv72
Your comment doesn't disprove my point. All you did was basically say you disagree because the terms have different origins.
"Your example would be better served had you said Skyrim-fallout"
So you want me to just make up terms no one uses? Skyrim and fallout haven't popularized any sort of Game design that has gone in to become a sub-genre.
"But because they encompass many elements th...
"If they are UNDERSTAFFED they have the MONEY to hire new STAFF. It's not that hard to figure out... You are still avoiding my primary question of what they are DOING with the massive amount of money they are making. Hence my point of them NOT making the most of what they're working with (meaning the money they are raking in.) "
I'm going to try and make this as simple as possible for you. When Nintendo made the jump to HD with the Wii U they severely ...
The problem with action-adventure is that it is used far too broadly and can be used in one sentence to describe a shooter and in another to describe a hack'n'slash game.
No it's not because it's a descriptive word that actually describes an element of the games design that helps inform the consumer. If you disagree then you're basically saying we should stop using terms like "open-world" because its an equivalent term that describes the level design of a game.
"People buy Switch for Nintendo’s 1st party games. No one gives a crap about having Xbox titles or 3rd party games on Switch that are filled with lag, video compression, and require an internet connection."
Yeah no one on the Switch is buying indies. Which is why we have indie developers coming out and saying the Switch is their best selling platform for their game all the time...
Considering that a major criticism of both is their boss fights I find it hard to believe someone could make a case for preferring Spider-man based on that reasoning.
