We're now over 6 months since it's launch and the client is still barebones so I have no idea what the defence is going to be now. At this there's no reason to use EGS for anything more than the free games compared to Steam.
"Without all the features..."
Except for 99% of the games library on the Switch which is what actually matters. If missing out on full motion controls and tv mode is a problem then there was already a system on the market for you.
This isn't difficult to understand.
"It's one thing a product not being for someone but it's another that you are straight up missing the point/intentionally ignoring that all the criticism about the Switch Lite is that it strips out more than half of the features of the Switch."
I think you missed the point. It cannot be this difficult to understand what a discount model is...
Technically it's not. One of the features associated with a handheld is that the controls are built into the unit, and this is the one part of the Switch that does not meet the classification of a handheld. So technically it is not a handheld. If we're talking functionality then it definitely is a handheld, but then it also fits the functionality of a home console.
I agree that if we try to to reduce the system to only what it needs fundamentally to function as a g...
That's like asking whats the point in the 2DS when you have the 3DS. The Switch Lite entire reason for existing is to be a discount model and nothing more than that.
Stop with the car analogies to gaming. They're dumb and are never effective at making a point.
"It’s then being lazy that’s how it is at the end of the day"
How insightful...
@TDR7999
They can disagree as much as they want, but if they can't say why then I'm not interested.
"I’m sorry but for a game that has had its tagline of gotta catch them em for 25 years"
Well you've not been able to do that without purchasing multiple games since gen 3. It's clear that the tagline has always meant filling out the regional Pokedex.
"it’s just a bit lazy they must have the makings of these games down by now it’s not like they didn’t give themselves an extra year development with lets go nor have the gotta design 80...
"they are not doing the Switch port themselves LOL."
Where did I say they were? Atleast try to read before making a fool of yourself.
"keep dreaming of living in the world where 3rd party devs put their main teams to work on the Switch version"
Indie studios and Japanese studios say hi! A fair few even release first on Switch, or skip other consoles altogether. So where are you going to move the goalposts now?
@BlizardXD
People are always hypocrites when it comes to review scores. When games they love get high scores they'll use those scores to validate their opinion to no end, but when they're low the reviewers are out of touch and bad at their job. Amazingly enough that double standard isn't a sign to them that they should make their own arguments to defend their view and not rely on critics.
Noticed there's a few disagrees but no defense for ...
"The Order, although with some issues, was amazing"
People really love remembering this game as something better than it was. The game had no substance in just about every aspect be it story, characters, gameplay or level design.
At this point it should be clear to even the naysayers that the majority of 3rd parties are capable of making their game run on the Switch. Will they admit they were wrong? Obviously not. The goalposts will probably move again, like they did from the system being dead on arrival to dead within a few months. The new argument will probably be something like "when the PS5 and Scarlett release" even though the system is already succeeding in a market against systems that are more powerf...
Think I'll be picking up Astral Chain and Oninaki. Still need to check out the demo though to say for sure.
His definition is arbitrary because he said 'real console'. Meaning that he has made up his own conditions for what counts as a console. If you disagree tell me what it is about the Switch that restricts it from the home console category.
"But the hardware is lacking when its supposed to be a generation above the ps4 and xbox 1."
The hardware of all consoles currently on the market has been lacking. Do you not remember games immediately ...
Sorry but the Switch is a real console. I know you want to create some arbitrary definition for a system, but the reality is that the industry doesn't revolve around you. The PC isn't a console but puts every console to shame most of the time so again this definition your pushing is stupid. Also I need statistics for you 95% number because if we're going by Wikipedia the Switch has 1800 games. So if we use your 95% number the PS4 or Xbox One (or whichever system you were referring...
"No, I meant the current gen and it isn't revolutionary?"
Well it's a last gen game because it released on the ps3/360 so labelling it a current gen game is factually false.
"Show me a game with a similar mechanic that did what the Nemesis system did before Shadow of Mordor."
I never said a game did it before. I simply said it's not revolutionary because it hasn't CREATED A REVOLUTION in design. If yo...
"They can't go out of their way to compete; they couldn't beat Sony at their worst."
The Vita?
You mean last-gen? It's been nearly 5 years since and the vast majority of RPG's don't make use of it so it's hardly changed the landscape. It's a great feature, but definitely not revolutionary.
Yes. You unaware of Paper Mario and the Mario&Luigi rpg series?
@Peekayboo
Sorry, I was just holding my PS4 in my hands. What was the point you were trying to make?
