While that might be a positive effect I don't think this was their priority. Truth is that japanese gaming is now very mobile heavy and BigN wants a share. There is much more to earn in mobile gaming, especially in Japan, than with a very expensive massive open world game that needs years to develop.
nope. I can't see me doing that. Wii U is quite different.
They shouldn't have named it a Final Fantasy game because it is farther away from a FF game than any previous iteration in my opinion :D
What's wrong with Cindy? She is gorgeous to look at.
" For every wonderful moment of absolute beauty and emotional attachment to its lifelike companion, there’s an equal and opposite baffling moment that ruins the mood with frustrating controls and camera angles."
For every great moment in Fallout 3, there was an equal and frustrating moment that ruined the mood with crashes, bugs, freezes, frame drops, damaged save files. Still it was the Game of the Year :D
That or frequent releases from Nintendo themselves that are worthy to play.
Dragon Quest Digital is only 20 on Amazon.
Should be New 3DS if the screenshot is any indication for that (left corner says New 3DS)
Switch and the 3DS are very different.
I read some of the comments below and people sometimes argue that Switch is a handheld console. No it is not only a handheld console. It also is a home console. They also need enough power to make home console titles work great on a big screen. I am pretty sure there are gamers who will use this almost entirely as a home console (such as some friends of mine).
I'm not a fan of modding, so I don't really care about that as a PS4 player. I have the X1 for some exclusive games though. BUT even as a member of the PS4 camp I'd rather see Sony to do eveything they can to support the gaming community / the developers instead of being restricted. Maybe hey need to hire some awesome programmers who are able to achieve something like changing PSN names, too. :D
Probably just some minor B titles that don't need all the raw power of a home console they can get. I don't think big game titles have the luxury to switch consoles during development of a game.
It still is. Try imagine running Final Fantasy XV, Destiny or Division,... or any graphical demanding game on a small factor tablet or even a 6" smartphone. It just drains power. On the other hand you want to create a slim lightweight device. There is not much room for a big battery. Maybe they think it will go the same route with pokemon go. Everyone is buying big powerbanks for the Switch :D
If it were... take it out, a couple of minutes later... battery empty :D
What we have seen is merely a demo. We still don't know the details or if the game is really going to be released.
Some might argue that it is not all about graphics and I might agree to that BUT it is also important to consider the games that are going to be released. Why is there less support for the WiiU from 3rd parties? Because the hardware does not meet the standard. So in order to really make those partnerships flourish they need to be able to compete with the PS4(Pro) X1(Scorpio). Nintendo so far survived because they have an amazing history of own published games and some exclusives like Monster ...
The downside. If you loose the Switch on the go you can't play your games anymore until you buy a new one :D. If you loose the Vita, you can't play the games you bought on the Vita but still be able to play your console games :D
@NukaCola That won't happen unless the battery last as long as the DS and also is as cheap. Also there is a massive portion of games for the DS family because you can output those games much faster. With an "highend" portable consumer always demand more. Just look at the Vita. Who is going to play a low graphical game on such a device or consider to buy it? The DS family is the most successful handheld ever made. Killing it would clearly kill a lot of profit.
Would you buy the games on Switch even if you get much better graphical and speed performance on the other consoles? We don't know the technical details for the switch yet but it is hard to believe it will come close to the power of the other two consoles especially when the next iteration is already in the coming. I believe the high power demanding games will sacrifice something like details to be able to run smooth on the Switch.
Destiny 2 is coming. Maybe it will be the next Mass Effect with Bungie gunplay.
