I agree if you like the ps3 the ps4 controller is a much improved over the last design. for me I loved the xbox 360 controller. the new x1 controller has made many improvements in quality some 40 redesign elements over last model... x1 doesn't need a big light bar it has a small led that the Kinect can track.
list of x1 improvement's are
new buttons that are more responsive
new redesigned sticks with less dead zone
new d pad
new triggers ...

Impulse Triggers – Xbox One’s Wireless Controller sports four vibration motors – a small one behind each trigger that adds precise haptic feedback to the finger tips, and a larger in each grip for large scale rumbles. This gives users a sense of in-game directionality and depth, creating rich, immersive experiences where gunshots, car crashes and explosions can come to life.

Xbox one is more advanced It might not have recharge able batteries out of the box but, ps4 still uses an old Bluetooth 2.1 2mbps vs WIFI Direct chipset that can move data 250mbps.. Plus

Microsoft doesn't use Bluetooth it uses a new wifi direct connection for the controller for better audio and quicker recompose. ps3 uses a slow Bluetooth 2.1 which reduces the audio quality because bandwidth is under 3mbps vs 360 wifi direct 250 mbps...

so am not sure you going to see a lot of difference because of the memory and GDDR5 will have some latency issues with the cpu so it make their cpu run slower then it really is... I think the two system should be pretty evenly match but I guess will see when that games come out on both system and they get customized and tweaked.

gddr5 is not crazy better 4870 is just under 8% faster than the 4850 at the same clocks. Since the only difference between the 4850 and 4870 (apart from the clockspeed) is the GDDR3 vs GDDR5 memory, the real world performance benefit of GDDR5 memory appears to be 8% on average. This is only one game, though. I wish someone would do a more thorough inverstigation of this.
