If graphics are not important then why improve? Why not leave games with 16-bit graphics and just improve upon the gameplay. Developers would save a lot of money if they do this and consumers wouldn't have to shell out $60 for a new game. I always ask this question and...

Exactly the battle system is what killed it for me too.
FFvs13's battle system looks much better. None of that you see enemy in the distance, you run up to them, unsheathe your sword, and then you enter a DIFFERENT battle screen. -__-
It's either you do random encounter or you do real time battles. Not both.
FF12 had the battle system going in the right direction with real time battles. SE should have improved on that instead going with 13'...
It's all about whether companies are willing to put in the money and work to make a great game. Batman Arkham Asylum and InFamous is proof that Superhero game can and should work.
I think it's safe to say that Arkham City will be a good game so that along with InFamous should be the archetype for ALL superhero games. I really really wish Spiderman games could be like what Arkham City is going to be.

I'm liking how FF vs 13's battle system looks. It looks like an improvement over FF 12's battle system (which I liked) which FF 13 should have done instead of coming up with a new trashy system...

In terms of quality, outperforming Final Fantasy 13 isn't much of an accomplishment.
In terms of sales I expect FF 13-2 to have lower week one sales than 13. Sales will go up if everyone thinks the game is great (doubt it) or sales will just decrease slowly until the game is irrelevant if everyone thinks the game is no better than FF 13.
I think people who are expecting this game to redeem SE will be disappointed. 13-2 is really for those that enjoyed 13 ...
Killzone 2's AI is better than Reach trust me. KZ2's AI was so good that they dumbed it down for KZ3 since a large portion of people who had the game couldn't beat the game period let alone ELITE mode.
