It's not that bad. Sony has already shown the overlay for their games. No launchers but the ability to have a PSN profile, trophies, and whatever else they envision.
2 platforms. Almost half on PC. Then where would the other half be?
Author thinks that the game would be as successful without PS5 sales? Really?
The game is played by and enjoyed by players on both platforms. The matchmaking is great. Why try to make a divide over some silly metric like "sales on a specific platform?"
It's a bad thing for gamers and for in the chair game devs. We just heard of massive layoffs across the industry.
I'd pay more if I read articles about how they were hiring. I'd pay more if I read articles about how the people who made the game scored record setting pay raises and CEOs were no longer given 1 year bonuses that could sustain a small studio for 10 years.
Choohe is locked behind another planet forcing players to liberate 2 planets and the reward for Penta is a weapon, not another stratagem so it makes sense.
If the weapon were on Choohe, that would be liberated.
I liked Outriders but I could see where the artistic vision was compromised. The way the industry is now, it wouldn't surprise me that upper management would scrap something that didn't pull in money via gaas, mts, or other means.
What are you disagreeing with?
The vitriol aimed at them from toxic people? Because that did happen.
That a PSN account was required at launch? Because it was then was removed because launch was so rocky.
I don't think they should apologize. It is evident that this is a response to the abuse that many users are sending their way.
Apparently, I won't be checking my inbox.

@Ra3030
No. Read the comment I replied to. That's what made me say what I said.
I believe that the game sold very well. There were articles trying to claim that it had failed. I am agreeing with the OP.
I too love the Souls games. I still own Demon's Souls PS3.
I want Rise, but I have such a backlog. NiOH, I was intrigued befits it launched and got out on Plus.
@Eonjay
Hollywood Accounting. It's done all the time and it's been happening in gaming for awhile now. It's not new.
The statement I made said I don't trust corporation's press releases.
Not about how they use loopholes to manipulate tax codes and are technically "not lying."
That doesn't even make any sense. The author made those statements before the game released. People knew ahead of time and wanted a boycott.
But most people knew any boycott would only punish the people who worked on the game and put their hearts into it (like most boycotts).
So many people bought it, enjoyed it immensely, and moved on.
Call down a 500kg bomb. Yeah those kill just about everything.

But that's not what happened.
I can't trust any journalist any more. And I trust the corporate press releases even less.
@Seraphim
Everything here is technically an ad for some game or other.
Un-nerfing the railgun would be my first choice for tweaks.
The author of this article is now lying. He's been informed of the comic and how both the game and the movie are paying homage to it.
He deleted the comments from his article because why? He can't admit to not knowing something?

Imagine the chaos of a flame sentry.
Should have happened a long time ago. People wanting refunds after 50 hours in game.
