You mean PC and PS4? Yeah. Me too. But, I still don't see the tech that is going to support Oculus. How will the oculus headset know what your hands are doing? Keyboard? Mouse? And how will it know what your body is doing?

PSVR is using controllers and a camera.

June 2016? Like NMSky.

I like what you said here and I agree except for the bubbles. (Though you only have two, I will bubble you up for a well said.)

The bubbles prevent trolls from trolling. That is the wondrous thing about them. Other forums and comment threads are riddled with the worst kind of trolls. Though trolls exist here, they are limited in what they can do. Then, on the flip side of that, people who comment well are rewarded.

That is excellent. People who respond ...

No they are not. They are not needed in any way shape or form. Only a critic could defend critics.

Think about it this way: an author, an artist, a developer, a musician spends months, possibly years developing a piece of art. An unlearned critic comes by and tears down in one day what they (the critics) couldn't produce in a lifetime.

What I said was dumb as hell? Evidence. You disagree is what you mean, but you have no evidence that critics are nee...

Yes. I see that it isn't a defense, now. Thanks for clarifying. I wasn't sure if this was but I agree with your blog (why I approved it) and thanks for replying to me to further explain.

I didn't come up with the "value" criterion that was suddenly invented this generation in order to bash games that couldn't be bashed for any other reason.

But, once it is added, why is it dismissed for certain games then? That means there is no consistency and therefore no integrity.

I really hope this title is selling well. I quite enjoy playing it. I want DQXI to come to the west.

"Reviews are a fairly important part of our industry."

Those who can, do. Those who can't, criticize.

The fact is, reviews and critics are not an important part of our industry. Or part of any industry wherein the "critic" examines art. That doesn't mean art can't be examined.

It simply means that people who cannot create art should not (and are not qualified) to critique that art.

Without n...

The problem would be that you could pick up titles on the cheap based on how powerful your host country's currency is.

It becomes a serious problem very quickly. You want games to be affordable, but you still want the devs to earn a living. Otherwise, I'd just switch to the peso and get games for pennies.

@bear

Totally agree. The article is actually really well done. I thoroughly enjoyed it and, for once, felt that the second click (for the rest of the article) was justified.

I think the title is a bit clickbaity but the article is really well done.

In the era of broken games being released, I think they should be applauded for cancelling a game that wasn't up to snuff.

This is a rumor about a game that conceptually sounds fun, but like the poverbial Tootsie Pop, the world may never know.

Interesting. I have yet to grab the TTK and I get most of what you described: all of the updates, weapons etc, except for some item specifics geared to TTK.

Basically, year one players that haven't gotten TTK are missing a raid and a new area.

As for North v Dinklage, there is hardly a difference in the original game. Is it better when playing TTK? I don't know, but the original story isn't any more or less explained or well acted.

The patches fixed a ton. I enjoyed it, but it is an Assassin's Creed game.

I thought Blag Flag was a breakthrough because of the sailing and Piracy. They had realized that they must build upon the franchise. But now it seems like just the same old story.

I played only story missions and nothing else.

Skyrim PS3 was treated this way. We got great review scores, then follow up article about the gamebreaking save problems. Later, further articles followed the patches.

Granted, you're only going to see that on a AAA big budget game.

"Game "reviews" are largely seen as a joke by most gamers I know these days. I don't take the paid advertisements (a.k.a. reviews) seriously."

Think of how many great games you would have missed based on the reviews. I know I would have missed many great experiences because a "critic" reviewed a game poorly.

All that does is reflect how poorly the games journalist is, not how bad the games are. Broken games are broken and w...

GameInformer did a great piece on how insane he had become. And the sad state of affairs as he surrounded himself with "yes men." The story behind the Force Unleashed was really poignant.

When he created Star Wars, he was surrounded by genius that built his vision. One of those people was Larry Kasdan. Larry wrote Empire and Jedi (sans Ewoks.)

As it appears, he is giving the number one salute to Lucas with the character played by John Boyega. H...

I didn't get the Taken King. I do have all the other DLC and the original game. The changes that occured when TTK released were pretty significant.

I know that PVP playlists were cut down for me and the others were hidden behind a paywall. The MP maps that disappeared still haven't returned, even for those that paid.

You get a new area if you pay but little else. And Dinklebot was far better. Now it really is bland.

PSVR will be the one to get for one very simple reason. The system purportedly already supports move controllers. This is important because it means manipulating objects (ie a gun) will be more precise due to the camera and the hand held controller.

Oculus doesn't have that. And when it does, you will have to wade through all sorts of 3rd party software/ compatibility etc.

Would love to, but the biggest rumor (and take it with a pillar of salt) is that it will be a surprise release on October 27th.

The reason behind the rumor is to steal Halo's thunder, which is logical, but I seriously doubt they would jeopardize a brand new IP by going head to head with the rival's top IP.

I figure they are trying to find a nice window for it. It should be the only game to release in a specific week.
