PS2 had a million third party exclusives. The PS4 won't. I doubt any system from Sony will every reach PS2 numbers again. Too many horses in the race.
I think Microsoft is in the toughest spot. They don't have the exclusive games Sony and Nintendo have.

Yup! Nintendo won't wait long to release the Wii U 2. There already working on it by unifying there hardware and handheld divisions. Nintendo needs games fast! And There better be a Pokemon game announced at E3 for the Wii U.
This upcoming generation is going to last at least 8 years. The Wii U 2 or Wii 3 will be out in 2016.
What the writer of this article doesn't understand is Sega came off multiple failed console. Sega ran out of money. Nintendo is not in the position Sega is in financially. Nor did Sega have the franchises to pull themselves out.
I agree, as a Nintendo fan.... I feel that Nintendo half-assed the Wii U. They made a boatload of cash with the original Wii and DS... They have the money to make their system stronger AND sell to casuals.... I don't know what Nintendo was thinking when they made the Wii U's graphics.... uhhhhh.

Nintendo should have put a little more juice into the Wii U. Im not saying it should be as strong as the PS4 but it should have had some of the functionality the PS4 is getting.
Competition brings the best out of everybody. If the PS4 and Xbox 720 come out and destroy the Wii U is sales, functionality, graphics, and games then Nintendo has a problem.

Mario Might have been the only reason the console sold at all. The game is over 2 million units sold, and the console has only sold around 3 million units.
If they didn't have Mario at launch.... it would have been way worse. So Mario did push units for them. However, they need a 3D Mario, and Mario Kart, and Zelda, and Smash Bros, and Animal Crossing, and Pokemon to really get things going.
Do they have enough to invest in Vita? If that was the case, why didn't they announce more first party games for the Vita in Japan at the Vita conference?
Sony clearly doesn't have the money to invest many games into the Vita. They have to fun Killzone, Infamous, and other huge expensive game. How can they fun Vita games when the Vita isn't even making the company any money.
If the Vita starts to pick up with the price cut and more games then Sony can invest more. But right now... Sony is in full scale PS4 mode.
Yeah, I think a PS4 + Wii U combo is good. I don't know why people act like you can only have one console. The PS4 is high end. You can play high end shooters like Killzone and Uncharted. The Wii U is low end but play weird games like Shin Megami X Fire Emblem, Xenoblade 2, and Wonderful 101.
Plus Nintendo's exclusives like Zelda, Mario Metroid. I want to see what Retro has cooking. If anybody can push the Wii U to its limits, its those guys.
Or you can just have both. If you don't like Nintendo's first party games you should have never bought a Wii U. If your not willing to wait that is.

Just like how Vita owners are excited about FF X remake. Or Wii U owners and Windwaker remake. Old games can be fun. If they add content and spruce things up. The Wii U version of Need for Speed does just that.

I disagree, The Windwaker was never in widescreen and has a unique art style. That should be remade for Wii U. It looks awesome.
DKC Returns was an amazing game hampered by some waggle controls. I beat the game on Wii but I look forward to downloading this on my 3DS for the better control options.
