In EA's eyes they would be losing out on potential revenue on the PS4 if it doesn't have DRM.

Most fighting games formula doesn't change much. Tekken, Soul Caliber, Street Fighter, ect.
Smash Bros adds subtle but big changes to each character through tweaks. It's not a action game where you can completely change things up. You have to stick to a certain formula for the core fans.
I personally like Smash Bros the way it is. I just want better balance of characters, no tripping, better online play, and some cool characters.

Nintendo uses custom logic in their GPU, developers are too lazy to figure it out. But Nintendo isn't. Metroid Prime 4 will look just as good as most PS4 games.
For as many developers who said it wasn't a next gen console, there are developers who are saying it is one.
