Not really. TES6 is years off and Sony is perfectly capable in creating first party open world RPG's at a much higher quality than Bethesda.
Financially it isn't a threat either. Skyrim has sold 30 million units in 10 years, across a dozen of platforms. Horizon, for the majority of it's life was only available on one platform and has sold 20 million units in 5 years.
Also, TES games aren't frequent releases. Prior to 6, a new game used to ...
@whitbyfox
Not really. I own a Switch for Xenoblade but that's about it, lol.
It's specifically said that Sony wasn't interested in their western studios and only wants the japanese side.
Funny how you call the Switch a console when it's pretty much the same thing as the Steam Deck but much weaker.
"Spoken like a true pony."
"Sony should be thinking about how many studios MS now owns "
"I have both and Spiderman and Ghost of Tsushima are the only games worth playing IMO. "
You're not fooling anyone lol.
Everything is.
No matter how many studios they own, they're just incapable of releasing (good) games in a timely manner. They only have Forza and maybe Gears. Everything else is mediocre at best, even Halo got to this point.
It doesn't need to since games are actually selling on PS :D
They use big zones but have very restrictive paths and loading screens between each area.
FF15 is the only "true" open world game in the series. Every other game uses zones with linear progression. Even FF14 (the mmo) isn't really open world.
To me that's a good thing. Not every single game needs to be open world. FF15 and MGSV would be much better off if they were more linear.
I was talking about ports in general.
lol what? RE4 has been re-released like 10 times.
It's no rocket science. If the Switch was more powerful, i'd have more third party support. Same thing happened with the Wii. It was number one but the majority of it's third party titles were shovel ware and old ports from previous gens.
4/10. Tons of filler and way too long. Wait for next year.
After that show? I doubt it. I'd argue that the last State of Play was better than this, lol. All Sony has to do is announce a release date for GoW and it's a wrap.
What PC releases? You mean the 40 sec Spiderman trailer? lol.
Sony owns PD. So yes, Sony is the one to blame here, not Polyphony.
Yeah, makes sense. Let's not blame the people in charge. This issue with Xbox missmanaging, delaying and cancelling games has been going on since 2011. It's not just Starfield. Microsoft is just unable to produce (good) content in a timely manner. If it weren't for their infinite pockets, Xbox would have gone out of business during the RROD fiasco.
The same is said every gen. I remember people saying the same thing in 2000 prior to the PS2 launch, lol.
PS and Xbox consoles will continue to exist in some way for a long time. Maybe not as stationary consoles but as hybrids like the Switch.
