I'm guessing this won't demo well with people just randomly passing by at Wal-Mart or Best Buy. There isn't enough space for that.
Thanks for turning this generation into a casual-obsessive circus, Nintendo! I mean, I'm glad it helped you survive in the home console market, but damn. All this casual stuff is cramping my style.
150.......................... chickens?
Did someone get angry and quickly jotted down what was on their mind? You forgot the dollar sign, sugar tits.
Am I the only one who found it funny when Microsoft picked on the Move for needing multiple controllers for simultaneous multiplayer experiences? Because, last time I checked, that was never an issue (for casuals, I mean. We hate it when that happens).
If people don't realize they're paying a bunch of money for an HDD, WiFi Adapter, online service and more on a console that's already $200 minimum, why would they suddenly figure that out now? They've been buyin...
Considering it came with a game (and now two) that were considered fun and never played before, I'd say it kinda was.
Nothing can really be done at this point that hasn't been done before, which is why I think Sony has made it clear that they want the hardcore in on this, too. The games that are coming out of the Move aren't really the same "swing the controller, pretend to punch the screen" games. While there obviously are some of those, it isn't dr...
Kinect's price just looks like too much at once when it's standing there alone.
This generation has worked in mysterious ways, but if there's one thing I'm sure of, it's that fragmenting the market has actually proven successful, which is why I don't think Sony will have trouble selling Move IF it sells well.
We're in a generation where things are just split up like they're meant to be that way. The Wii has it's MotionPlus ...
I have a feeling that MS is planning to sell it over the amount that it could be sold and, if it were to flop at launch, drop it down to the price it should have been.
They've done it when the PS3 Slim launched and they've done it more recently with the Kin. The only problem is, none of those price drops helped surpass the competitor (or in Kins case, survive). I'm guessing they'll hope that interest won't disappear by the time they drop.
...
Last time I checked, the worldwide figures for this year still show the PS3 ahead by about 1mil units.
Kinect: Starting at $149.99
Wii: Starting at $199.99
Move: Starting at $99.99
Two come with a game. One of those are cheaper to start. The other comes with two games and already has a mainstream appeal. Just by looking at how many people buy Wii Boards, MotionPlus and extra Wiimotes, it looks like they don't care how it adds up in the long run. What would people think if Sony advertising the fact that they have a camera with hands-free ga...
Even without major motion controls, the PS3 and 360 both technically have shovelware already. There is no way of avoiding it. I know I'm prepared. Prepared to avoid them. I already have the lineup of Move games that I want in my head.
Yeah, so let's all just pick one up when it launches in hopes of that actually happening....
No. No thank you.
lmao, that is so botched.
That's like trying to sell a house for $100,000 and having some random dude come up and say "But wait, it'll be more expensive than this furnished $100G house because you gotta add this $10,000 TV, $750 worth of kitchen utensils, $2,500 worth of bedroom setup and more!" only to find out that the furnished house is broken down and barely works. People aren't buying the starter kit with the rest in mind and the Wii is proof of tha...
Those who said that $150 was "just a placeholder" are sitting out for now to think of something new to say, but it's funny how half of the comments on N4G went from "it won't be $150" to "$150 isn't bad".
It's still a lot of money. $150 for just the camera? $200 for a game bundle and no console to play it on? Something that's "kinda" working should take more time in the oven.
Because they're paying for a ton of plastic instruments to compliment a console they already have.
They buy it for $100-150 and, other than the occasional downloadable song (which is usually only bought by core), they don't have to spend any more for new games on top of it unless they want the newest one.
It's why the Wii sold. $200 will get you games and the entire console for a few minutes of fun. It shows when you realize that the best-selling ...
Well, of course! What kind of core gamer WOULDN'T want to put down the newest Call of Duty to get up and dancing in Dance Central?! Pshh, you gotta be some kind of loser to choose Halo Reach or Black Ops over that totally awesome game!
And casuals? Hell yeah! Instead of buying everything they need in a $200 Nintendo package, they could spend $200 on Kinect and a game alone, then double that with a new 360! Taking out the controller and limiting the amount of games they ca...
Don't people already know this? "6 player support, only 2 active". I remember seeing something of that sort.
Well, I guess people were right on this site about Kinect's price from online retailers only being placeholders... turns out it's more than that. Did I expect that? Not really. Now that we're aware of it's limitations and still unstable mini-games....
No one ever said Kinect was $150....
Kinect - out of Microsoft's mouth, mind you - will be "€149.99". Even with a little Googling, you can figure out that it converts to $200 American.
You can get a Move bundle, an extra Move and a Nav for less than that.
PlayStation is the second-oldest console brand that's still alive and kicking today. It's only natural for some of the fans to want some nostalgia to kick in. Nintendo does it all the time and the fans love it.
Do you only have negative things to say because you're personally a very dark, disturbed person or do you just hate people who like PlayStation? I'm thinking it's both.
Why are you always so wrong about half of what you say?
Holy sh*t, do some research at least. No, you know what? Don't do any research at all. Just stay away from sales numbers in general.
"Next Generation Experience Now".
That would mean it's a current generation experience now that you've rushed it to get released now. It could have been if you just waited, but of course, you didn't so now it's basically a slightly advanced Eye with Wii and DS games.
