Awesome. Been waiting for this for quite some time now.
Ohh, this looks pretty. Has anyone seen it yet?
I've not played wolfteam...that may be another I have to download
Christmas themed content you say? How wonderful.
I'm downloading this as we speak.
Awesome. It's been quite a while since something like this has come up. I am looking forward to seeing what comes of it.
This is what we've been waiting for. The justification argument
Although somewhat contradictory, he still has some very valid points. And he knows games, there is no denying that.
I think he's got a point and it's interesting to see him pt his arguement in context.
I think you're wrong. I do think that anyone interested in videogames would have known who Bartle was before even the comments on WoW. The problem with this is that if someone berates a game that is widely loved and accepted, then they are going to face the wrath of fans. Instead of giving the guy a platform to express his opinions, people misinterpret and fabricate stories, and if you don't want to know about him, care about his past and are fed up of hearing about him then that's fine, b...
It's funny that this guy was behind the most successful videogame genre of today. It's also interesting that he's not some arrogant twat with opinions that make no sense. Funnily enough, he seems quite humble and rather soft.
A really interesting read for those that are interested in knowing why Bartle says what he says.
I'm not so sure how MMOs would be different in MUD never came about and whether they'd take longer to have shown up on the scene as a genre in their own right.
It's a good interview and insightful too.
I'm not sure how he's going to swing on the whole videogame thing. He's supposedly well into his Blackberry (no pun intended) so I presume he must be a bit of a gamer. We know that Hilary Clinton is a little anti violent videogames. We'll see. With the economic situation the way it is, and the games industry as really one of the only solid-ish industries in this time of complete credit crunchness, I doubt there will be any radical changes effective immediately.
Oohhhh, I can't wait to get my hands on this for Christmas. I know exactly what kind of world I am going to build. It's going to have caves and goats and a football made out of goat's udders which, when you kick it, turns into Albi the racist dragon and he cries jellybean tears.
Ahhhh,
I love this article. So informative and Jake has a really nice way of making people in Japan seem real.
I reckon we'll see this Q2, and possibly later.
When are we getting it in Europe? I wnat to play it now?
This is a really really good read. I can't wait to get my hands on NeoTokyo, it looks amazing. Great article and thanks for the information on modding.
