No. You submitted this article, I assume you were most likely the author of this or fan of the site, and your getting angry that some that have been gaming for a few decades have seen the degradation of the gaming media into nothing more then a joke.
Look no further then MSNBC and Fox news to see that a lot of media all around the world is not to inform anymore, just to get people's emotions raging.
I think this article is damage control because of the unprofessional-ism that is called out on this site frequently. This is a horrible site because like I've said before gaming journalism, has gone into anarchy. 6 years ago it was never like this, now bloggers, and idiots with nothing but time on their hands make a quick website and spew out "their opinion" and treat it as if it needs to be heard, or is actually factual.
Sadly all the professional sites now mi...
I would say Elder Scrolls V had a more surprising and impact on me. But both games will be brilliant, and both will get my dollars and time.
But Oblivion came out in 2006, and the original ME came out in 2007. So I've been waiting longer for a new TES game, I started playing since Arena and Daggerfall, so in some ways I'm more excited. However, both games will be brilliant I'm sure, and like I said, both are day one, probably get the collectors editions of both. ...
Nice, I will get this day one.
I agree. ME and ME2 were masterpieces. But I did like ME1 just a tad more in terms of gameplay. It was cluttered, but I was mad that ME2 took away the RPG experience, and the exploration. I think if you take ME1 and ME2 and merge them you can make the ultimate ME3.
Yea...because HL2 had tons of people with out some type of gun.
And no I'm not againt others opinions I'm just arguing mine. And it seems that it has rubbed you the wrong way.
Yea it is a great one and I'm glad some one else agrees. HL1 was to me way better, and the revolutionary one. HL2 just added a few things, (though amazing things) and HL1 did all the things it did minus vehicles, and the physics gun, 6 years prior.
Again I'm going to guess the "disagrees' never played the original, or did so after playing HL2. Besides physics, and vehicle inclusion, HL2 was the same format as the original. So how can one say it's not revolutionary? Go back and read the old reviews of HL when it came out in 98, and how almost everyone agreed that it changed the FPS genre.
I don't think so. Besides the "tech" of physics, HL2 was almost identical in terms of gameplay to the original. I will agree the original took it to another level. But HL2 was more of the same (not a bad thing) of HL1 but with physics.
Eh I disagree. The original Half-Life is still to me not only the greatest FPS, but one of the greatest games ever. Most probably did not play it when it first came out, but the game changed everything. The AI was top notch the battles were unforgettable, the bosses were way better then anything HL2 had, and the map design, and levels/environment is still just one of the best.
I thought the story and narrative was more intense, and HL was more "scary" then HL2, I...
I agree, and it's what continues to fuel these wars in an endless cycle. It really pisses me off, I use to go to all said sites such as IGN, Gamespot, ect were so professional, and that is what they wanted to do, is create as objective of a system as possible. Not anymore though, all they do is run behind "it's my opinion" but it based purely on emotion, and no logical system, such as what to compare it to, and some objective measures. Gamespot's old system was great. Gr...
You know what I really think the problem is anymore. Is that the Internet being so cheap and easy to program, we have an excessive abundance of "Gaming websites/critics" on the web. I would say that 99.9 percent of them should not be around, they are nothing more then amateur people trying to get hits by creating console wars and fights. And it works, so what happens next is that advertising money goes their way. Now the "once professional" sites like IGN, Gamestop, GT, ec...
I think too that they need to get back to their roots. To me Dead Space was a great example of bringing back puzzle and, pure horror to this type of gameplay. I really hope they go back to the pure creepiness of the original 3.
Or Call of Duty
Capitalism does work, yet there is a plague that does destroy it, and it's called marketing. Marketing brainwashes people (including myself) into things we may not need, and that may not be that great of products. People scream "oh just don't buy it" or "I don't get effected by it." That's a lie. Most people are hardwired in today's society to absorb a lot of marketing and they don't realize it it. Even when something is "cool" marketing h...
I gotta agree. To me the media all around has become fanboys. Very few reviewers I trust anymore to be fair to all consoles/genres. Adam Sessler, and Jeff G, at Giant Bomb, and most of the staff of Bitmob.
Anymore even these so called "professionals" take sides, and just make the war even worse. I just don't know anymore, I'm hoping soon we will shake out of it. I own all consoles, love games on all of them because I'm a gamer. I love all games. I was d...
Apparently you missed a big chunk of the story. Dreams are random, but that is what the Dream Machine is for, it is made to fool people thinking it is the real world. Do people watch movies or just want what they want?
The whole point of the machine and the entire team is to create a real feeling world to relax the subconscious and steal vital info. The dreams are controlled through a science fiction machine. Maybe you should re-watch it.
EDIT: Also read up ...
Wakka give me a break, no excuses for what? That most gamers are arcade based people that don't like simulation. You know who's review I've been waiting for...myself. And that's all that matters. So I know you have never played a GT game with comments like this. So I guess you base the greatness of a game purely on reviews eh? That's cute.
I've always thought Treyarch was good with the series with WaW and it seems BO will be fine too. I find it funny that his other reviews of COD games with Infinity War are praising it to the roof. Seriously? COD (post COD2) really overall has had mediocre single player, not just the ones Treyarch creates. The on-a-rail shooters get tiring, and there is nothing new that any of the companies have brought to it. MW2 was a terrible experience with single player to me.
However...
Honestly this sounds like an attempt not only for hits, but more so standing up for the subpar FFXIII and it's horrible lack of mini-games.
Honestly I think the ones that bash the prior FFXIII games are those that only like shooters and have ADD, and can't take anything more complex and engaging.
Honestly I think this author is trying to stand up for FXIII being completely bare, linear, and beyond boring and simple.
