Lol no. Business doesn't work that way sadly. I'm pretty sure season pass will be $50 so you'll save $10 by buying the $100 edition that comes with COD 4 for free and the season pass. COD 4 will be sold much later as standalone so sales wouldn't be divided. FRIKIN CASH COW HOLY F*! A lot are going to buy the $80 edition now. Don't be surprised if other companies follow this tactic now.
For me this is the first cod that I'm pretty hyped up for since MW3. It looks drastically different. In addition to having 2 Naughty Dog veterans on this game, this is Infinity Ward's redemption shot and "Warfare" in the title alone already means that the game's guaranteed to be good. Don't be surprised if this ends up being one of the best CODs.

So basically $40? that's a lot, a definite pass. Only hardcore COD 4 players would buy it. Pretty smart move by Activision. Sheeps will happily buy a 2007 game for $40 which is quite sad.
