EA can't manage to get a sports game to run at 30 fps on the PS3, while Sony's first party sports studios can get their games to run at 60fps?
CD's and floppy disks are still relevant because we can use use compression!
edit: I always forget that sarcasm is lost on the internet... :/
The ESRB tries to go after this one with an AO rating. Just a hunch...
Since they put as much money into this game as they did, not to mention the fact that they are charging gamers for XBL, I would expect this kind of thing to be nonexistent.
Halo 3 is fun though; I watch my roommate play all the time. It's funny because he didn't know how to save his game for the first couple days and was always wondering why he had to start over when he turned his system on.
To its benefit, you can upscale older games, but i'd still rather just use the PS2 so I know that EVERY game works. Besides, certain PS1 games don't work on the PS3, which is why I keep my PS2 around still. I hate not being able to play Silent Hill 1 on my PS3 because of software incompatablity issues.
LOL, someone disagreed with my truthful statement. Now that's just funny...
Destiny. Well put! :)
The average consumer most of the time doesn't recognize good value; they take one look at a price tag and (in the case of the PS3), pass right on by. It doesn't matter if it has a blu-ray player built in, or that it has wi-fi, free PSN, 60gb HDD, high-end multimedia abilities, etc. They see the 600 dollar price tag and write it off for a Wii or a 360 instead.
They'll wonder why all the features aren't included in the 399 version.
Now, it doesn't matter to me beca...
I always liked that feature! It was so satisfying to slam your car into another rival before they even entered the equation of the crash.
Oh well, i'm still buying this game!
You idiot, PS1 games still work through software emulation. Who knows if the 399 sku will ever get PS2 compatibility back in the future, but by that time, the more advanced model will probably have dropped in price to a respectable level and it won't matter.
And as for Rock Band, the 360 only has 2 USB ports and its peripherals are going to be wired, so where does that get anyone? That's why you will still be able to play GHIII wirelessly on the PS3 but not on the 360. It's bec...
When little Johnny goes into the gamestop and sees that the PS3 is 399, and asks his parents for one, and when the fanboy clerk tells them that it can't play old PS2 games? Does he get upset and forget about his purchase, or does he get one anyway? What about all the people who have expected BC from a Sony console only to finally make the jump to HD and get screwed by this decision?
I love it when people disagree without adding anything positive to a conversation.
Anyway, to answer you properly, it would simply mean that you still use the same USB cable for all the controllers. But you don't even need to do that; you just press the ps button and assign the controllers through the PS menu.
SonySoldiers is a worthless gimmick and nothing more. Tell ya what, you should take his bubbles so he gets put on auto-ignore.
I get really annoyed when I see the HDDVD fanboys spouting their nonsense about incompatible bluray players, when all that is required for them (since they don't have net jacks) is to go online and download a firmware update and install it in the player. Problem solved!
I can play almost every game available with the Playstation brand on it on my system instead of having to worry about picking and choosing incompatible titles. w00t!
Personally, I think the non-BC issue is going to bite Sony in the ass a little bit, as someone who brings their system home expecting to be able to do everything that their 60gb owning friends can do is going to be in for a bit of a surprise.
"WTF! Why can't I play God of War II?! Man, I shouldn...
There is no PS2 backwards compatability!
Is this guy for real? Since when do PS3's not count as standalone players for BluRay Movies? Even if you NEVER wanted to play games on the thing (have no idea why you would not do that), you could pop BluRay movies in right out of the box.
This is just maximum denial here
If Infinity Ward is so adamant on making all versions of the game the greatest, why doesn't the PS3 version get a limited edition copy too?
NO U
LOL
Any improvements to the development process of Playstation 3 games are good news any day.
Now if Sony could only provide free upgrades to DualShock 3 controllers, we would be set.
