Well the 6870 is a replacement for the 5770. It's the 69xx cards that are replacing the 58xx cards. In general though the 6xxx series is similar to the 5xxx series series so far. Fermi is a better architexture in terms of tessellation performance. We'll have to wait for the 69xx in November to tell.
No it is MLAA and the method used on the SPEs is about as fast as using quincux on the cell hardware. The cell is very good in doing such operations.
Here read:

The Saboteur also used a custom MLAA solution so GOWIII was not the first.
I just take a bath with my PS3. ;D
We do everything together!
Only issue is that you'd have to take care of the HDD and Disk drive somehow. Could probably mount it beneath the aquarium you'd use. Come to think of it the SP3 does look like an aquarium by itself.
Yes the 6 feet minimum distance from the camera will be an issue for Kinect to gain penetration in Japan.
I wonder if they'd let us customise our horns. A dukes of Hazard type horn would be sweet!
I guess this is mappable on the Wheel buttons on the G25 :D
Which is why Sonic 4 is more like Sonic Rush.
Can't blame Sega though. Most of the Sonic team's original members are not working for Sega anymore.
Yes i was referring to performance on the cell. GOWIII's usage of MLAA is trully amazing. The Santa Monica guy that made the SPE algorithm for it deserves a promotion. GT5 should have used it too imo. (Other upcoming PS3 exclusives are, not that i can hugely complain about a console game with 2XAA on 1080p and 4X on 720p)
Intel made a demonstration with it on their CPUs now and ATI is putting driver support on their 6xxx GPUs for it which allows it to be applied to any game you wa...
I loved the demo on all aspects except visuals i find them to be terribly ugly and it's hard to even see the enemies most of the time with the way they blend in the environment. Add that to going fast and you have a problem. They nailed everything else though.
Cause it's a 360 magazine and we all know there are no real news to report :P
Well unless you count Kinect but that's on embargo.
Actually GOWIII has no regular form of AA. They use MLAA.
It's a blurring technique that is applied as an after effect. Visually it is comperable to 8XAA though and the technique is less demanding than even the crappy quincux method used on Mafia 2.
It is by far the clearest console release in this generation because of that fact.
I think the PS3 has JP, ENG, Italian and French voices. Well and better sound overall.
Edti: @Disagree, i can 100% confirm that the PS3 has those tracks. Do you have a better explanation for the size difference? Does the 360 have multiple tracks too?
And how many games on that platform are on that 5m+ sales club he is talking about? Hmmm?
Chances are you didn't bother to read the article.
Cheers getting the demo now.
Or may end up actually keeping the game if it ends up being that fun.
Naughty Dog: Nah huh!
Nah, PSX is not an official name for the PS it's just a name that the on-line communities have adopted for the original Playstation. PSX is the DVR combo thing.
Not the first console to have weird ads.
PS1 even did it before.
And so the cycle goes on...
It's not confusing per se if you know this fact but to new consumers it's an un necessary change that will confuse the market. Why change it in the first place?
