I don't know about all you guys but I really do care whos Game does better; not because I have a preference for 360 but because i want to know which system I need next. I am thoroughly impressed with Forza 3 Only because I hear the things that they are doing with the physics between the car and the road. Very impressive, not to say that GT isn't doing the same... I just haven't heard them touting physics. all I hear are visual comparisons yadda yadda yadda. I am a PRECISION GURU I get more of...
texture pop in is something you are going to have to get used to. It is usually a small problem in games that stream textures realtime to cope with system memory limitations. remember driving too fast in vice city and all of a sudden all of the buildings look like horse crap them boom back to normal. same thing with this but 2k packed so many multi layered hi-res textures so close in the game that even given UE3s superb ability to stream textures on the fly without causing framerate stutter t...
Is This The $200 Difference?
if so i am glad i made the decision to go with the 360. the only reason i say this is because i have watched many a video on this game and i was not impressed. to me the Graphics that got a 9.3 look like the graphics from an old game like half-life 2 but thats just me. as for the size of the disk i have no idea what they filled 16 gigs with.
the tex-res is absolutely low and the game according to reviewers is only 10-15 hours long. i just do...
The "New" clock-speed for the RSX isn't going to be revealed until hundreds of thousands of ps3s have sold
given the fact that Sony has a history of overestimating or straight out lying about their hardware, ill "estimate" this to be a lie of omission.
most likely they did this because the average consumer would look at the 360 and see 500mhz and look at the ps3 see 500mhz (rumored to be the downgraded clockspeed) and buy the cheaper one or t...
guys you know this is microsoft. i am absolutely sure that if it for some weird reason came down to that microsoft would just develop a browser dashboard update and release it.
i mean, its microsoft what do you expect
believe that that is one of the best put together scary game trailers I've seen to date.
that was awesome
I heard someone ask the difference between "in-game" and "in Engine"
so ill provide a simple definition.
"In Game" = to run on the platform the final code is designed for. (running on the 360)
"In Engine" = to run the engine on anything, be it the 360 or a development computer using UE3
this lingo can be confusing.
be aware that in engine is usually not in game.
ill provide the opening seque...
the first thing i noticed on this was that the cloth simulation seemed less reactive thatn the 360 versions flowing cloth. i belive this is in part the result of them choosing to run this in 1080p but dont quote me it is just my opinion
since the beginning developers on both consoles as well as those developing games for both have stated that the "general architectural arrangement" of the 360 allows for better AI due to the fact that the 360 has very long sets of branch predictors ( basically what the cache on the cpus is used for)
the branch predictors look for similar code and pull from the cache rather than reprocessing the same code over and over freeing up clocks.
the ps3 has some of this ...
you have not and never will convince me that the ps3 version has and more eyecandy than available for the pc. dont even argue. the ps3 is not capable of more can it render this game at
1280x1024 at 90fps. absolutely not. will the texture resolution be 1600x1200 no way not even close to enough ram.
before you say blah blah procedural synthsis.
yeah you dont need to have space on the game disc but... you need to store the textures you've procedurally synthesized in ram no ...
These screenshots are in 1080 i dont know if its i or p
but they are way bigger than 720p garunteed
garunteed. i know this because i watch apple trailers in 1080p an they are the exact same size as these screens when maximized
i am really happy to know things will become a lot easier just to discuss rather than go crazy about and start cussing and bashing.
so thanks.
i gotta give it to em... this looks good.
minus the framerate issues of course
over some time ive become "familiar" with the different types of shaders used in realtime gaming.
there is parralax mapping usually used in brick walls. bump mapping etcetera ...
i can tell you that both the fatal inertial screenshots and the halo screenshots are "in Engine" the wording devs use when describing pre release screenshots is tricky.
there is an obvious difference between the quality rendered screenshots and the in game screen ...
about to say cgi but then i saw the rest of the movies.
omg im usually really hard to pleas but thats crazy my god wow the transition from cg to gameplay is seamless!!
awesome
100% agreed
we need a minimum number of characters though.
if you want an actual clarification of the things that you are all claiming to understand and calling each other un-educated when you in fact are uneducated.
then all you need is to post yes.
i will write it right now.
just post yes at the top or bottom of your comment.
if you have a fast video-card (7800 gtx) i have found that by checking the new visualizer option to use direct-x it takes about 10% off your computers cpu usage when using the visualizer. just a tip though.
the performance is better for me especially in the visualizer. i think they multi threaded it i get 40 fps rather than 30 on 1080x1024 not fullscreen but expanded large.
