Seriously, what is with the stupid format wars?
If Microsoft wants the HD-DVD to successfully go mass-market, they should start bundling it all the time with the arcade/multiplayer package in Europe and elsewhere.
I don't get the draw. I'm not BUYING a 360 after sending it to be repaired if all I'm going to do is watch HD-DVD movies.
I don't see anything there yet and most everybody here doesn't want a Blue Disc Player OR an HD-DVD Player yet at ...
Thats nice, the 360 is stronger in its other Western markets and has a much stronger install base. Sony is much stronger in its home territory, and MS has started a huge marketing push through Europe.
Doesn't mean 360 is dead in Japan or PS3 dead in Europe period because they are much higher than normal.

XBOX360 is NEW to Japan yet has managed to keep sales consistently at 1000, 5000 something units and THAT is a success!!!
Compared to the original XBOX which cut just under 500 units all the time, the 360 is doing over eight TIMES as well.
So no I really doubt they will throw in the towel in Japan, the market they carved out is ACTUALLY EXPANDING and they get developer support from both the ...

MS is on a large-scale marketing tour in Europe and 360 is selling out all over Amazon and "GAME" on top of that they are gearing up for the XTIVAL festival and HALF LIFE competition......
360 sales are already picking up very strongly in Europe and PS3 and the price drop are doing better.
That's not a "HUGE" turnaround, wake me when it has 6 games that are absolutely worth owning like METAL GEAR SOLID 4 or WHITE KNIGHT STORY.
