KZ2 still has it beat from what I've seen so far, the draw distance in Crysis 2 is embarrassingly bad.

So much for best looking console game, I really don't think it trumps kz2 atm not to mention kz3 down the road, but I'm happy I get to play this awesome game nontheless.

Enslaved does look nice but it's not UC2 good, not by a long shot still.

This shot alone rapes any bullshots from Gears3. They are still missing some other really beautiful KZ3 shots in this comparison though, I guess they knew then it would be totally unfair.

I bet if you record a footage of Uncharted 2 on a crappy cell phone 20ft away from the tv and upload it to youtube, then tell me if it looks similar to Uncharted 1. Get it guys? I definitely love the Wasp though, the way sequence of bringing down that gunship was wicked sick.

Notice how silent Crytek is after this hit the headline? Guess no more "best looking game on consoles" from them ey. Seriously even at this pre alpha stage it blows everything out the water. So fkn awesome.

The first few minutes of that frozen shore demo has already owned the entire Corinth Bridge level of kz2 and with scale 10x bigger and improved textures, lighting etc., we're talking about something that would make kz2 look like Quake3 in comparison. I sure love the friendly competition within them 1st parties.

Since when has Gears series ever run in 60fps anyway? The difference isn't that big in the 3rd one, it's just more colorful.

Sounds pretty nuts and epic, might have to pick up a 3d tv after all.

GG must be using tons of SPUs for this kind of destructibility along with such an amazing graphical caliber. That just makes the scans looked so much more impressive.

Nothing dramatic in improvements though it seems more colorful now, peeps hoping for a new graphics benchmark are probably in disappointment now.

God Damn...KZ3 will be unstoppable in graphics, that's all.

Woke up this morning and this KZ3 megaton flew straight in my face! HELL YEAH hype+!

Question is, do 360 gamers really want another dodgy 540p version this time around? I wouldn't feel happy if I only own a 360.

Check out Gamersyde's pictures, they don't look anywhere near Uc2's quality. Actually they looked more like the first game.

VsXIII would only stay exclusive if Sony is paying SE like M$ is paying Epic.

Might just get it on 360 then since I don't support sub hd games from either company. Sony should send some of their ninja coders to RockStar and get some of MLAA and 720p going next time.

But certain obvious graphical short comings can be determined immediately without delving into art style or personal preferences. The astonishingly low resolution 540p of AW is prominent during day time, the sub par textures and animation stand out from a beautiful lighting model like a sore thumb. Inconsistency like these would make my decision very easy in such regard.

Uncharted 2 obviously due to FAR better animation, a land slide better in character models, sheer amount of polygons in every environment and the best textures on consoles, and of course being native 720p tearing free. It's not a fair contest IMO but Alan Wake does things better too such as volumetric lighting and fog, that's about it. Now God of war 3 vs UC2 would be a much interesting match and my bet is on Kratos.

The opaque geometry buffer is the single MOST important measuring stick for a game to render, it is the foundation and the sheer bulk of the on screen render, this is how pixel counters determine whether a game is HD or sub HD. Since Alan Wake is rendering a 960 x 540 opaque geometry buffer, you can see it's almost half of the typical HD res 1280 x 720. One can imagine the huge amount of processing power and memory it can save for other effects thus it's nothing special technically speaking w...
