Why would Microsoft announce it? It's nothing to do with them except the OS it runs, which is you know, the most used OS in the world.
The only portable gaming 'console' Microsoft has at the moment it the Windows Phone 7 platform.

In fairness Chromer, HHG does make up a lot of stuff for his titles. Things that have no basis, evidence etc... it's just him going "lulz that'd be cool".

I have to say even if you don't like Kinect (I know I don't) they did have a pretty innovative year due to Windows Phone 7 alone. The OS is miles ahead of iOS and I even prefer it to the Android. Sure, it needs a lot more apps to catch up but that's on the devs end, not MS'.
Microsoft has come on in leaps and bounds lately. It's hardl to believe the company bringing us Windows 7, Windows Phone 7, Kinect and IE8 is the same company that brought us such crap...
Agreed, I loved the Gamecube. It had an awesome library of games.
No development goes on at Blizzard Ireland and it'll be the same for Bioware. It's mostly business/customer service related stuff.

I personally, would prefer the 1st party hardcore exclusives but I can't speak for everyone. People have to understand Kinect isn't going to last for ever. Motion controllers is a phase in gaming. We'll mature past it eventually. Either to the point where it's so precise that hardcore game devs would be foolish not to incorporate them into their games or where they'll fail to relevant. Either way, lets just see how it plays out and enjoy the great games we do have.
Exactly. Let's try and be unbiased for a second. Kinect has its audience, it's going to well. There's no use arguing it. Perhaps one day it'll have some sweet games for us hardcore gamers. If not, oh well, we still have normal 360 games, our ps3 games, wii games, multi plats and of course pc games. I hope Kinect does well simply because I like gaming in general. As long MS don't lose focus and concentrate fully on these casual motion sensor games I'm quite happy.
Microsoft are going a different direction with mobile gaming. They're concentrating on supporting xbox live on Windows Phone 7 as opposed to a full fledged handheld console. Don't hold your breath for one.
