its funny, but after they put $200 down, sony are then at $400 more dollars for a PS3, which just happens to match the price of a 360. this scheme will make the PS3 appear cheaper after people lay the deposit down!

Sony are trying to copy wii with this move, and its a pale imitation. This is not moving on, this is emulating competition. Sony have done nothing new or exciting, except try to force fanboys like you to adopt their new disc format. gaming is changing, and sony are being left in the dust.

the developers (you know, the ones who MAKE the games) are having trouble with making games run well on the PS3. raw hardware is nothing without software and coding, and that is where MS is leading.

just build enviromentally friendly energy plant's using hydro, solar or turbine power. it's only 8% they have to cover.
this way, electronics won't have to be specially manufactured for the UK (which will drive up costs) and uk gamers dont get cut off from the wii and 360 services.
