Let the existing xbone owners who have upgraded get their purchases, then see what the lasting appeal for the console is. MS has about 20 million worldwide hardcore fans for their platform. That's about it.
It doesn't matter. Common sense will tell you that the majority of Scorpio purchases are existing xbox one users that have probably bought both the OG xbone as well as the S because they're diehard. MS isn't make a bunch of new fans with this release, they're just milking their smaller existing fanbase for even more money. Imagine dropping $499 for the xbone, $399 for the S, $149 for a stupid controller and another $499 for the scorpio. MS thanks the plebs.

Well Phil said at E3 that they had many new deals in place, but that the games wouldn't be ready for several years. Basically admitting they have very little for the remainder of this generation. We all know that in a few years the PS5 and another xbox console will be on the market.

Saying you can get it on PC, then clarifying that something is a timed exclusive is not posturing. It's speaking truth and logic.
You realize this game has a massive community, that is very active within the game. That this community is one of the most generous communities in all of Twitch as well with their incredible fundraising for St. Jude. That this community has a convention every year as well for meet and greets with Destiny streamers.

Resources. Developers can't and won't utilize everything a console offers, especially when the installed userbase is substantially smaller than the rest of the market.
PS4 Pro and Scorpio won't see maximum effort outside of 1st party games, and even then it'll be hard to deliver with the base consoles having the bulk of sales for each platform.
Yes and HDR is not some gigantic improvement. It's subtle, even says so in the article.
