Gamers are always put in situations where they need to make a stand. Only it doesn't happen. Most people can't fathom the idea of not playing the "next game up" regardless of how screwed they are at the hands of the developer/publisher.
I've done my part over the years, and will be doing it once again with the new Mordor game and the microtransactions/loot boxes in single player. But history has proven this stuff doesn't work.
