What they should do is release it for free.
I love the lighting.
This game is releasing on the PC, so why should it be left out of comparisons?
They did this because people complained about achievement farming and people who disrupted normal games in order to gain achievements. Now everybody just has to play normally in order to get the new weapons. Win-win, I'd say. The new weapons aren't supposed to be upgrades, they're supposed to be sidegrades. You shouldn't be playing the game to get the unlocks, you should be playing the game to, well, play the game.
"Second, with the graphics as good as they are on a console now a days"
That may have been true at launch, but now, PC graphics have a very clear and distinct lead in terms of quality now. Compare multi-platform games like Call of Duty 4 or Unreal Tournament 3 and you'll see a noticeable difference in quality.
"i would much rather use a controller over a mouse and keyboard."
PCs can use controllers very easily. I play with a 360 contr...
The games actually do sell. They don't cost much to make, seeing as how they pretty much port the damn PS2 version to the PC, so it should be profitable even if they don't sell a huge amount of copies.
I totally agree. There is nothing wrong with the art style. I'm glad that Blizzard is sticking to their vision instead of succumbing to the wants of a small group of vocal fans.
But since the PC version will be free with micro-transactions, they'll have to sell micro-transactions well.
The reason PC users don't pay is not because of piracy, it's because they don't want to. PC users are used to freedom as that's one of the main draws to playing on the platform.
Map packs would be useless anyway for a pirated version of the game since you need authentication to play online.
Huh. I just did a quick query for TF2 servers and I was able to find every official TF2 map (except the arena maps) on servers that were populated but not full. The original six TF2 maps are some of the most popular. You should have absolutely no problem finding servers playing them. Also, TF2 gets like 100,000 players per day.
The reply system.
Definitely the best multiplayer shooter in quite a while.
I'd say it is. This story was posted by an N4G admin.
Hey, don't be so mean to your table lamp. He's a pretty cool guy.
They said the PC version will have options to remove infinite ammo, regenerating health, and will have larger servers. Basically, they're spending the extra time to "deconsolify" the game to appeal to the more hardcore PC audience.
Sometimes they hate things even before they play it.

Milk? These updates are free! Valve are one of the very, very few developers who continue to support their games years after release. Other developers just make their game then move on immediately to the sequel.
This looks amazing. Hopefully it'll be more like Shadow of Chernobyl than Clear Sky.
The reason they implemented this system is because an assload of people complained about unlocking through achievements. Now this is their punishment.
