These are honests questions, no sarcasm intended.
1.) How can we expect an ISP to support massive digital distribution of movies?
2.) IF the ISP's do somehow support massive amounts of DD to the customer what cost do you think it would be to the consumer? $100 a month? $150 a month?
I would like to expand on the last question. Lets say that HD movies are $15 dollars to buy and lets say you buy 5 movies a month. That's $75 dollars in movies alone a...
well, I think DD's are a good option, but they will stay an option for quite some time. Until the IP's jump on the fiber optics bandwagon w/no download cap and at an affordable price (around 50 dollars a month) DD's will be just an option, nothing more. This is at least a decade away.
Plus who would wants to sacrafice quality for ease? I dont know about you but I didnt spend thousands of dollars on a setup to be a lazy as*hat and not go 2-3 blocks to the nearest store to buy...
ok you idiots. After I post this i am done with this thread.
The only numbers you can trust are the ones EACH company releases to their stockholders annually. These numbers CANNOT and are not fabricated, it would/has meant disaster for some companies.
At the beginning of the '07 FISCAL YEAR the Sony Corp. stopped counting the numbers shipped and started counting the numbers sold.
When BOTH companies numbers were released, the PS3 SOLD MORE than ...
That is 100% false. Price is ONE factor but its not the first factor.
You know what is? demand. people will always want whatever console they choose no matter the price. Most people who are going to spend an extra couple of hundred dollars on a console will spend extra to get what they want.
We saw this last year when the ps3 outsold the 360 by quite a bit worldwide, this despite not even being out in europe for a quarter of the year.
yes they should have. They are missing the boat and in a very significant way.
You dont win console wars or races or even create good sales off of multiplatform games. MS needs to "jump in" and quit dipping their toes into the pool. THE BIGGEST problem MS has is their complete lack of 1st and 2nd party studios.
nah i know what you are saying, but the conflict of interest that MS has hurts their 360 bad. They end up canabilizing their sales for the console. What MS proved to me this generation is that they are still dipping their feet in the pool but are unwilling to take the plunge they need.
Sony in-house exclusives make MOST 3rd party games look like shovel-ware. Bethesda games, Infinity Ward, and Criterion come to mind as the exceptions.
Anway, I stick by my statement. I will never buy a console for mulitplatform games. Never. If I can get the multiplatform games on a console that has the largest and most diverse 1st and 2nd party exclusive games on the planet then why wouldnt I buy that console?
The ONLY reason I dont own a 360 is because I r...
If it comes out next year expect it in the fall. I would actually be more inclined to say spring of '10.
holy crap, look at all the trolls. this will be a refreshing update for the 360. No need to compare it to the PS3.
I am in the HOME beta and recently had 15-20 people in my apartment, ALL talking to each other... so yeah.
Out in the HOME square we can get up to and around 40 people discussing games. So maybe quit the needless comparisons?
that guy was annoying. Game is awesome as usual.
very creative levels. This game is so awesome!
oh man, 6 months? its less then two months out!
well, for a PSN game this is taking entirely too long to get going. This game should have been out by july. It would have been a no-brainer in July but now... They have pushed it back to october and its not going to bode well for sales.
they have gears2 in november but I dont expect that to sell a ton of consoles. I mean how many people dont have a 360 but are waiting for gears2? Same with R2, its NOT a system seller.
well, there really is no way of telling how well a game would sell without a bundle. Consumers like bundles, it will boost console sales, which in the long run boosts software sales and vice versa.
Bundles are a great way to both push software AND hardware.
On a side note: this is great for people who support this game because of the create aspect of this game. The more people get their hands on it the better off everyone will be.
Ok Omega, let me spell this out for you: They may be making some money now but that doesnt offset the OVERALL loss that the xbox has brought them.
Secondly, this has NOTHING to do with their 'insecurity', this has to do with promotional advertising. Its a great selling tool. People LOVE bundles in Europe, end of story. In fact, people love bundles PERIOD.
The CONSOLE will sell better with this game bundled to it, and in the end thats what matters. Go play ou...
Overall MS is STILL in the red. They have never made a single dime on their gaming division. ever.
As for bundles, they are good advertisements
sweetness.
