sheesh... people are not ready for digital distribution. WHo is this person? Have they ever heard of baby boomers? The aging population in this country will demand a disc... people forget that the age of this country is growing. Digital distribution will be here in a few years, and it may be the next next 'format' but it wont effect this wave of new formats. Digital distribution... im 23 and I still want a disc.
lol yes i understand. However, a little over 60% of standalones when they had a years head start is not a huge difference. In fact if you think about it, it is a diservice to Hddvd that they only have that lead. Also, the people that own a ps3 are possible consumers of bluray discs and therefore should be counted, whether or not you or I know how many they buy. It is purely spin.
Look at Hd-DVD's year advance, look at the amount of total players sold, and look at the comp...

Yes... it does look good. Its not really fair though to compare it to gears of war. How big was gears of war? Not 32k x 32k. If you think about the magnitude of this game, the graphics become stunning. It may be the most technically impressive next gen game to date.
I agree. Sound is quite underrated. I think a reason for this is the lack of people with good sound systems. However, once someone hears a game with good sound on a great sound system they would quickly change their minds.
Nobody can say that the PS3 is doomed this early in the cycle... NOBODY. We can agree, however, that the lack of games at the moment does not justify the 600 bucks that the console costs. I bought one not for the games at the moment, although I do enjoy Resistance, oblivion, and motorstorm, but for games in the future. Now that may sound stupid to some, but I could afford the system when I bought it so i did buy it.

It does go to a different demographic than the traditional gamer, but that is a good thing. I really like wii sports... but other than that it really doesnt appeal to me.
