You cannot be killed PVP up to level 5.. what a garbage endorsement for a game!! How long will a player plough through the first 5 levels.. a day at the most. So after a days play it is open season for annoying trolls, immature kids, and generally nasty people to try and kill you and ruin your gaming experience. No matter what Todd Howard says about the game preventing other players from ruining your game, it's going to happen. Every online game is rife with trolls, players who are only o...
To be honest, Bethesda had to come out and make this statement, with the amount of grief and doubts regarding the always online aspect of Fallout 76. I certainly hope that the comments made come to fruition, but I cannot help think that whilst Peter Hines has enjoyed his single player online experience with a mere few dozen other players, I highly doubt that those other players currently privileged to test the game, would act in any anti social or malicious way. Can the same be said when the ...
Old news, the beta will go towards seeing how the PVP elements will play out, and the quality of quests, stories, and empathy towards the game. If it is a large open world with little to do, and the feared harrassment by other players comes to fruition, one preorder will be cancelled.
Pros..
1) It's Fallout
2) World Map 4 times size of Fallout 4
3) Improved building, and the fact you can move your base.
4) It's online.. a different direction for Fallout.
Cons..
1) Always online.. Unfair to those loyal fans who have problems accessing reliable internet, or live in an internet dead zone (before people start moaning and saying tough luck, there are plenty of areas with no or poor internet, ironically West Virginia...
Owning both a PS4 and an Xbox (best of both worlds), I personally found the Xbox presentation more compelling.. cannot wait for those 5 new studios to start releasing great games, new Halo, Gears and Forza, plus they saved the new Fable announcement for another day.
Bethesda introduced The Creation Club, which charges fairly high prices for unique in game items in both Skyrim and Fallout 4. Perhaps this will be utilised in Fallout 76.
The original Dying Light + DLCs was amazing, large maps and plenty of things to do and see, plus Techland are passionate about their game, and are still providing free DLC for a game that came out early 2015. Dying Light 2.. FOUR times bigger.. cannot wait!
I am lucky enough to own both an Xbox One X and a PS4 Pro.. the best of both world's. Yes, the PS4 currently has more exclusives, but the Xbox One X is proving to be my mainstay console for general releases.. reason why.. games that are Xbox One X Enhanced simply look better and play better, backwards compatability all the way back to the Original Xbox, with more titles being added all the time (Red Dead, Witcher 2, Fallout 3 look amazing), Gamepass, the fact I can play with proper mods o...
A really great, frank and heartfelt article, written by a true and passionate gamer. It is sad and ironic that someone who lives in West Virginia more than likely will not be able to experience his much beloved home turf, recreated in a gaming world he is clearly proud of, because internet access is so poor. It's not only in the rural areas, there are so many places in the USA and the rest of the world that cannot access viable internet access. Its so easy and thoughtless for 'Mr I...
Er... No!! A meagre portion of squat, with a side of diddley.
EA's conference was simply put.. B O R I N G !!!! The same old annual games, where was the gameplay footage? An overlong screenplay of mobile gaming footage for Command & Conquer was cringe worthy.. The audience even struggled to remain interested. The star of the 'show' was Unravel 2, which was by an independent studio. EA are a pitiful one trick pony, to be quickly sent for processing at the knackers yard, then fed to a dog.. the resulting deposited stinking mess being the ...
Annoying slides.. but beyond that, Randy Pitchford from Gearbox has already stated Borderlands 3 is an E3 no show (he is renowned for telling the 'odd' pork pie though). Hope Bethesda come up with more than Doom 2 and a DLC for the 'dull' Prey.. last year they treated us with Evil Within 2, Wolfenstein, Prey, and a Dishonored 2 DLC, so there must be something else for 2018. With a shed load of games slipping, maybe some publishers and developers will reign back on announcing g...
So far in 2018, I've only purchased two games.. Far Cry 5 and God of War.. not through lack of funds. Both great games. Bitterly disappointed about delay of Metro Exodus to 2019, along with Days Gone, and now the more likely delay of Borderlands 3 to 2019 too. What we are left with are the annual COD, Fifa, and regular new Battlefield incarnation, plus Red Dead Redemption 2, Tomb Raider, Spiderman (hope its not QTE riddled), Dreams. I'm praying that RDR2 has a more involved and intere...
If Rage 2 is scheduled for an early 2019 release, what games are going to earn money for Bethesda in 2018? Last year it was Evil Within 2, Wolfenstein, and the Dishonored DLC, plus Elder Scrolls Online DLC. Apart from the Elder Scrolls Online DLC, Bethesda surely cannot be releasing nothing else in 2018.
I'm not sick of open world games, going back to linear games is dull and lacks choice. If a game developer can match the vast, detailed open world of Fallout 4, with its vast crafting system and build your own settlement mechanics, with the quality story line and interesting and worthwhile side quests of The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, and improve the combat mechanics, then it would be winner winner chicken dinner time for all. Oh, and NO microtransactions too please!!!
I do appreciate free speech, and that everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but I seriously question a review score of 6.5 for Far Cry 5, when the majority of reviewers are scoring far higher. Looking at Polygon's other reviews, to score the same as the woeful Sea Of Thieves, which at best will keep you interested for a couple of days due to a lack of content, makes 6.5 for Far Cry 5 seem harsh. The review for Horizon Zero Dawn scored 8! Polygon seem to not like western RPG/open wor...
Click bait trash, that wants you to subscribe or wade through pages of rubbish and ill conceived views.. nothing to see here folks.
Because they are one of the rare developers who make games, primarily for the joy of gamers, and not to wring every last penny out of ones pockets. The free DLC, constant updates that listened to gamers experiences, and true value for money expansion DLCs, really show how low EA, and other greedy developers and publishers truly are. No foul stench of microtransactions to be found with CDPR.
Going to need a whole barrel of Cranberries to make this turkey remotely palatable.
Great business model and planning by Bethesda! .. Fallout 4 has sold 13.89 million copies since its release in 2015. Right away you can probably remove at least a quarter of that figure for those who have no internet access. Then you can remove another quarter for those who simply do not like online gaming, due to poor personal experiences with trolls, immature kids messing about, cheats etc.. Out of the remaining half they will then lose sales due to gamers mainly playing other online games....
