I played the original so much as a kid it was bordering on an obsession.
It blew my mind the freedom it gave and the kill animations were awsome..oh and it probably has the greatest soundtrack in video game history.

I really enjoyed the gameplay, but I've only ever played it once all in one sitting so I might be remembering it with rose tinted glasses.

So this is basically speculating on speculation? Gotcha.

Whatever happens for the next gen one thing is for sure, no single company will dominate.

Well one is a sport the other is a Military shooter... Football hasn't changed in decades, militaries do, that's just off the top of my head.

Ok so the Dmc4 clip you have there, is with Dante completely geared to the teeth and on a really tough difficulty setting, I still see enemies waiting to be attacked
But I'll grant you this, what we have seen from Dmc so far has been at a slower tempo, but still I think that comes down to difficulty setting and progress of the character, and I agree MGR is pretty badass when everything is in motion.

Its cool though If its not floating your boat I get it. I just wa...

1st I heard of the bugs in Dmc but however they haven't released a demo yet( which is coming seemingly) so until then its a non issue. Same cant be said for MGR.

Now as for the rest I just don't see it, here http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Show me where it looks 'clunky' or this amazing 'dodge roll being the GoW 30 foot roll to safety' Sure the...

I dunno, MGR looks ok, but if the bugs that are in the demo creep their way into the final game it wont sit well with gamers.

DMC on the other hand for me looks like alot of fun, I really don't get the complaints about the combat,'terribly slow and choppyish combat' what does that even mean? All the other Dmc titles could be played slowly unless you turn up the difficulty, in which case I'm sure difficulty settings will be in place to suit that need.

I bought it and love it, Single player is pretty deep and is quite addictive, haven't tried Multi yet but I bet its fun.

I got and enjoy both, Pro has gotten alot better this year but that doesn't stop me from jumping into fifa aswell.

I know we'll probably get some hate, but I agree, I played and loved the others but that isn't going to stop me from enjoying a good game, now if it turns out to be a bad game, then I'll be a little pissed.

Plus to everyone saying its slow and the combos are too short for SSS, I'd imagine if the difficulty is turned up those things wouldn't be an issue. The other DMC titles had alot of flexibility in difficulty settings.

' bashing MS although no one mentioned them. Not marked as "off topic" either.'

That's what amazed me. Although I would hardly call it 'bashing'. Its his opinion. And a lot of others it seems.

I had a Very similar experience, except I did get a second one.... which also quit on me half way through Alan Wake, haven't played a 360 since, with a shelf load of games just sitting there.

I refuse to get another one and definitely wont be getting whatever Microsoft put out for the next gen at launch for fear of them repeating the same mistakes.

Still holding out hope for this, will wait for reviews to hit to help me make up my mind.
OT I would like to think they learned their lesson with on disc dlc, especially because people can figure out how to unlock it for free....

I would like to think so, look at Dayz, I know its a mod, but over a million people signed up for it, that right there shows me there is definitely a market for survival horror, its wide open for a new killer experience, someone just needs to show some guts and put it out there with good media coverage.

Haha

True, RE4 was the beginning of the end for survival horror, but RE6 is so far removed from that game even, it just doesn't sit right with me personally. This will probably sell like hotcakes anyways, I didn't enjoy the demo, that's probably why the review scores are all over the freaking place. I just wish Capcom would at least create a new Ip that was actually about survival horror and let RE become what they want it to be. An action 3rd person shooter.

4863d ago 1 agree7 disagreeView comment

Why call it Resident Evil then? Why not create a new Ip instead of riding on the coattails of past games. Its fine if you enjoyed the demo then more power to you, but to just buy it because its a 'Resident Evil' game is just silly, show Capcom with your wallet, its the only way to get them to listen.

That's different, the guy who reviewed K&L slammed it, dispite all the the ads, that's why he got canned.
