Brand New Engine = Twice the dying of Dark Souls. Which was twice the dying from Demon Souls...
Nope, that will be when you can earn live achievements on the ps3 and vita.
I am fine if they also offer a fully priced version that allows you to bypass ads and grinding in free to play games.
I would rather pay for the game full price and not have to grind or watch ads.
I will purchase every North American release for 360, highly rated games for 3DS/Vita, all Windows games that have Live achievements/the odd AAA game that I can't get on a console, all Windows Phone games, and iPad/iPod games that are interesting.
I do not forsee me getting a Wii U because I don't see anything there that is compelling me to buy the device with the 720 and PS4 looming next year. I will also avoid Android games as I don't want an android device.
Your comment about VGC Sony hardware sales... Sony reports sales as consoles shipped to distribution channels, not sold to customers. So their 70 mill is not consoles sold at retail, it is consoles shipped to retail. Sony stuffs the retail channels big time before Xmas. I went to a best buy yesterday, and there was a 3/4 pallet of 360's, one full pallet of Wii's and Wii U's together, and three full pallets of PS3's. I went to Wal-mart... No Wii U's, 1 360, and completel...
You can say Sony's numbers are sckewed as well because they have had three form factors whereas 360 has only had two (yes, I know the third sony form factor isn't everywhere). And Sony has released more different sized hard drive models...
As for the RROD. I don't think that affected sales as much as people say. First, MS fixed a large portion of those 360's with the extended warranty and the 360 slim came the year after the issue was resolved... Second, you...
This generation is done from a gaming perspective. None of the new IPs announced from anyone are truly innovative or ground breaking.
What are we really missing by having MS not shipping new IPs or sequels to existing IPs?
I am positive most MS studios are directed to the next gen, and that is where they belong. They should be breaking ground so that the next console starts with a ton of strong content.
3rd parties have released stronger an...
Two interesting things here really...
Karoake... Has achievements and is music karaoke experience. Why is this significant? Xbox Live gold members will get this for free. Karoake appeals to many casuals.
SkyDrive... First IE, now SkyDrive... Is MS Office next? This hooks many people on MS's cloud storage... On a Android, iOS, or Win Phone you can use SkyDrive, also on any PC or Mac, and now your home console. MS is really making SkyDrive desirable. ...
Honestly, I don't see how Valve comes up with a better and cheaper console than Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo.
I acknowledge that Valve has online expertise second to none. But a console is about video, music, pictures, and casual experiences through things like Move, Kinect, and WiiMote/Nunchuk. Valve has very little experience in these realms and would have to license a lot to make an offering that equals the big three.
Also, Valve simply doesn't...
As usual, these are a bunch of vaporware.
I only believe them when there is a specific release date. Very few of these games have a specific release date yet. Especially the exclusives.
Wii U = Wii revamped to finally join this generation.
The launch titles are littered with content already out on the other two HD consoles.
The exclusive lineup is weak. There is not a single Wii U game above 80 percent on metacritic that wasn not originally shipped in some other form on a previous console... Whether it be the 3DS, 360, PS3, etc.
The games may be strong, but most gamers have seen them and played them all before elsewhere.
XBLA has brought more retro arcade games (with achievements) to XBLA through Game Room and single downloads than the other consoles.
Meanwhile, XBLA had Zen Pinball, Braid, Puzzle Quest, Castle Crashers, Outland, Portal Still Alive, Monkey Island, etc. as timed exclusives before they went to other platforms.
And they still have Trials Evolution, Minecraft, Trials HD, Limbo, Mark of the Ninja, Super Meat Boy, Geometry Wars, Geometry Wars 2, Rez HD, Shadow Co...
7 years after release and MS manages to get 360 to the top of world-wide weekly sales (even if it is on the strength of North America)...
People talk about how the 360 is fading... If it is fading then what does that mean for all other consoles? Vita isn't even a year old and can't get into the same ballpark (Even if it is under tracked).
360 > PS3 > Wii (That says everything about the Wii... "Fad Generation" confirmed)
...
I bought Forza Horizon and it is great. The Forza games have good legs. Forza 4 was a disappointment because it seemed to be just 3 repackaged.
But, if you like realistic racing sims, Forza Horizon is a must buy. The change from track racing to open world realistic sim is a much needed change for the realistic sim genre.
This is a really tiring discussion. This is about what specific people value and are willing to pay for.
I value Xbox Live... It is very stable for me, it has never compromised my credit card and personal info, I like shopping on the web vs the console, smaller and less frequent updates to both dashboard and games, a better store experience, better avatars, I think achievements are better than trophies, Live parental controls for my kids, the monitoring the MS does to weed o...
Wow, 360 really is holding up well! Year 7 almost complete and it is being compared to a 2012 console.
Yes, the Wii U looks better, but these comparisons make 360 look good because it is still decent in comparison.
I haven't bought Wii U and this does not convince me at all to buy it. If anything it justifies my wait and see approach.
I don't know how reviewers can take a game that has solid gameplay mechanics, solid graphics, great sound, smooth frame rate, a 6-8 hr campaign, an endless multiplayer component, and an additional co-op mode and give it only a 6/10. That would make 90% of the games on the market less than a 5/10.
Meanwhile they gave Birds of Steel 9/10... A game with good gameplay mechanics, average graphics, an average campaign, awful multiplayer, no co-op, and poor sound.
Silicon Knights hasn't done very well this generation. Too Human was an ok game, but should've been much better (Their choosing to use the right stick as combat move stick rather than buttons was a poor decision).
X-men Destiny is just a less than average game.
I do hope Too Human lives on and is brought for the next generation because I think the IP and concept was there but I am not sure Silicon Knights has AAA staff capabilities left to bring it f...
Duh... The Wii U barely is better then the current PS3 and 360...
Saying PS4 will whoop its ass is not going out on a limb...
I hate that popularity of search graph. That could just mean that many 360 users are more interested and looking to the next gen than PS3 users that may not be expecting a new console as much next year.
