There was a time, I can't remember before which update where if you set four things to download in the background, they would all start downloading at different rates but all at the same time and they didn't stop just because you started playing a game, I mean who wants to chose between playing a game and downloading one?
First off they seem to be talking to people who don't own the game yet. Secondly, they are asking for original artwork, not a capture from the game or an existing screenshot.
I think the concept is simple, if you can draw and own a PS3 send them your graphic and win a free game. How hard is that to understand?
I gotta admit that I am and I don't get really excited about games that often. I mean I am trying to categorize it but can't seem to find a good one that it fits into. The big question I suppose is that can a game clearly targeted at adult gamers be a "blockbuster"?
inFamous is really cool but I think people are missing the point. The point is that Prototype is more fun to play, period. Put it like this, you want to finish inFamous because you want to know what happens, you will probably finish Prototype because you were having so much fun playing. And to me thats the difference, I would buy both, but I would buy Prototype first.
Sony is being really quite as to whether this is the end of Kratos story or the end of the franchise so I guess we will have to wait and see but I suppose the bigger question is will players accept anyone other as Kratos in the God of War series, guess we will see.
All we will say is read the review first, were are not saying inFamous wasn't excellent but when it comes to pure fun I don't think inFamous comes close.
By trade I am a techie and the technology is simply not there yet. And as you will see we state several reasons why its just not feasible right now on a mass scale and won't be for a few years.
Rico looks like he has a ton of new tricks up his sleeve, it should be nice to see how this game develops.
If you read the article you will notice that is exactly what we came to. The article basically says that right now there doesn't seem to be any correlation, but the problem is that gamers see it that way and publishers don't seem to be aware of it. Perception is reality, especially when you have to kick out $60 for something.
As we recall, Hulk was a pretty fun smash em up, but from what we know right now, Prototype shouldn't just be a smash em up. Based on the details available, it has all the components to be a great game whether they can execute it, the proof is always in the playing right. We hope we can get our hands on a copy this week and if we do we will update. I understand not wanting to spend your 60 bucks and not be sure and we say that's what you have us for, to let you know if its crap BEFORE you buy...
In the article we say that we think the demo could hit the PSN store in the next week or so, but we clearly say we would think. There is no substantial information as of now that they will even release one but we were going off the recent trend from Activision. Good question, we will update if we get a definite date.
So I don't know if you read our review of inFamous or not, but I thought we gave a pretty fair review of it. It was good for what it is but it wasn't the game changer a lot of people said it would be, you gotta give us that. It was very well done and judged independently, its excellent, but there is nothing to say that Prototype won't be able to deliver something as good or comparable is all we are saying. No Fanboyism, just real. Appreciate your thoughts.
We loved it at ZKG, gave it a 5 out 5 actually. If you get a chance go to the site and search "resistance 2" to read the review.
Agreed. Dude, it used to be great, there used to be tons of variety. I do think that there are some things coming down the pipeline which I will be writing about real soon that may force Madden to push themselves farther. I hope so, please look for it real soon.
@mastiffchild,
If they do indeed do that at E3, then they would have done what I was talking about in the post and they would have made them really mean something concrete and then the problem would be solved. Good stuff.
I definitely agree with you but I mean does it increase replay value. Most gamers I know, there primary purpose is to beat the game, not gain all the trophies though I know people who do try and collect all the trophies. The conversation that I really wanted to get started with that article is what can they do to add more value to the trophies since it seems like they want to keep them? The way its done now, you wouldn't remember what you got something for or when. More importantly, why does ...
Your absolutely right about Legacy of Kain, what's sad is that a lot of gamers might not ever get to know it though. And yes Path of Neo did rock. Could you imagine what it would look like on the PS3?
That's the hope at ZKG, but if they don't we will definitely call them on it.
I have played the demo extensively and I pretty much agree with what has been said here. I think that the easier levels are so easy as to make it more appealing to casual gamers. The expert level is nuts as has been said, if Shogun takes you down its a wrap and if you play as Shogun Liddell knocks you out. However, overall I did find it very enjoyable and I think it has very good replay value and should be very fun to play online. I really captures the feeling of UFC that any second the fight...
The bottom line is its something that's very annoying to us and we felt like we weren't the only ones that felt that way. It used to work just fine with downloads going in the background and it didn't negatively effect gameplay. I mean you can download lots of things at once on your computer and it doesn't stop you from browsing the internet does it? This is the same principle and maybe if you had read the article you would know that.
